Octavia is the mare. Classy, dignified, certainly well educated and most likely having worn bracers in highschool and being part of the marching band...
And yes, if I ever had the money to spare (I don't), I would so totally buy this one from Sophiecabra and frame it and hang it on my wall.
But beyond her enjoying quality Scotch, and her derision of common mixes such as rum and coke, we love reading stories about her. Even if she sometimes shares the spotlight with Vinyl Scratch. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, mind. Anyway, I'm here to tell you there's a few stories you should read that involve our dear cellist that you might or might not have stumbled upon and might (or not) have simply put into your 'read later' list and then forgotten about them.
And yes, just because you read Allegrezza, that doesn't mean you've read the definitive Tavi fic. And don't bring up the vampy fic. There's still more.
First of all, if you haven't been reading The Gentle Nights: Audience of One by PaulAsaran, then you've been missing out.
It's one of those stories that has an unusual pairing, that being Luna and Octavia, and it takes its time with great pacing and characterization. Totally worth reading if you haven't/were hesitating for some reason.
Like the above, there's also an older fic, from the earlier days of EqD called Claro de Luna by James Cork which also deals with that pairing, but in a very different way. If LunaTavi intrigues you, this is also a good read!
And finally, of course, if you have been buried under a rock and haven't started reading "Gothic" by some dude called Wanderer D, you're also totally missing out on some amazing work, written with loving detail, exhaustive care, intriguing planning and humbling humility.
Of course it helps that it'll be updated tonight!
I have always seen Octavia as being "too good for Vinyl Scratch."
The main difference is that Octavia is a nerd, and Vinyl is a geek.
The Gentle Nights is amazing and anyone who says otherwise gets a pie to the face.
