SITREP: Hello, Goodbye, and looking for some help · 4:30am Jan 19th, 2015
Well, I tried to get as much done over the break as possible. But, school's starting up again, and that means updates for the story are once again going to be rather scarce. The next chapter's actually supposed to be the first submarine one by Aurora Aura, but he's busy with his job right now and, seeing as how he works on an actual sub, his availability and time are rather scarce. I suppose I should've gotten that ahead of time.
Continuing on the good news/bad news we have some new talent joining and some old friends leaving. Unfortunately, Dusk Quill and Celestia's Paladin had some real-life issues come up, and they're far too busy to be able to contribute. It's sad to see them go, and I wish them the best luck with their future works.
Luckily, we do have some more people to help us, so let's welcome them!
War Correspondent Mercer Kyle created and written by BaroqueNexus!
Staff Sergeant Frank Portman of the United Kingdom's 3rd Division created and written by DwayneHicks97!
Steelhoof created and written by dominatusimperator!
Now the interesting part about the last one not having a title, is because this character, in the context of the conflict, is unimportant. He's a civilian; no real role in the war. It's largely a position to show the darker side of war, in how civilians are usually the ones who suffer most, being defenseless and caught in the crossfire, and unable to do much about it. So, it's going to be a darker, more symbolic kind of arc than one with action, but I feel it should be represented. I'll trust dominatusimperator to write it well.
Now down to the last part that's really confusing involving the Canadians, and their positions being edited. We will now have a fictional Queen Elizabeth class carrier, created by Sockeye101, but written by The Rainbow Brony instead. In addition to this, Golden Arbiter's taken a bit of a hiatus (as any of his followers here may already know) due to the shootings that took place in Ottowa last year, and his job becoming a bit more... hectic; I'm not taking it out completely in case he wants to write in the future, but his role was more of one to represent comms people. But this leaves me in my usual SNAFU that comes with this story:
I've got no one to write the Canadian ground forces for.
This was kind of in motion since the story started, but with everything that's come up, it's been delayed. I wanted to hold this blog back till I found a replacement to write for them, but I can't seem to bloody find any others in the Canadian Army. So if you are or know of anyone who is in the Canadian Military in general, or think you can write for their units, please let me know. Only catch is that the unit won't be changed; you can create your own character, but they're going to be in the Dragoons in honor of him.
That's about it. I really want to thank all the readers and writers for sticking with it this far in, adding input and work, and everything else. This is a really great experience for me, and I feel like it's going to get better. Until next time, take care.
