We all have demons in us. Some are larger than others, some more deviant, more dangerous.

Take mine, for instance. My demon has threatened my life and existence since my birth, and now it threatens to wipe out everything I hold dear.

So far, it's succeeded.

But it may have taken my family. It may have taken my friends. It may even one day take my life.

But it will not take my ponies.

On a cold moonless night, a pegasus awakens in the Everfree Forest with no memory of how he got there and no memory of anything else. He can only remember his name, Vanquish. He winds up in Ponyville and must try to piece together his past, but strange events follow him everywhere he goes, and soon the residents of Ponyville are asking questions of their own. Who is this pony? Where did he come from? Vanquish and everypony else seek answers, but all they find are more questions, one after another. Soon ponies start disappearing. Strange dreams plague the townsfolk. There are creatures in the dead of night that howl like wild beasts. What does it all mean? Vanquish and the rest of Ponyville search for the truth, but it almost seems as if the truth has been...vanquished.

Shining Armor and Big Macintosh both share a secret: they both prefer stallions to mares.
