Finally. After so long... I've finished the epilogue. Thank you all who stayed with it till the end, because I know sometimes it was really slow.
And all of you who commented, I love you :D. I take every comment to heart, and take them into account while writing. Going over final edits before submitting to EQD, so wish me luck.
Next I shall more onto the AJ fic I was wanting to write. And then a Equestrian Mythology one. And perhaps a Luna/Celestia Regret one. But one step at a time. For now, here's some random AJ stuff I got inspired to write to get me into the zone for my next fic. Nothing really happens, so just read it and enjoy. Might make it into a prologue, might not. Haven't decided yet
The Calm Before The Storm
“Hey Big Mac, throw another log on th’ fire, would ya?” Applejacks voice resonated throughout the clearing they were in, and rose clear out of the Everfree Forest.
“Eeyup” came the reply that everypony was expecting, as the stallion heaved another fallen tree off the ground and onto his back. He let out a slight groan at the weight of carrying a near full-grown tree upon his back, but continued onwards regardless
“Lemmie tell you” started the creaky old voice of Granny Smith. “Back in my we had storms like this all the time. Trees larger than that were fallin’ every day, and we’d have to clean them all up. So don’t you go complaining bout a small branch like that.”
“Nnope”
“Hey Mac, hold on.” Shouted Applebloom
“Nnope” he replied, and continued his short but slow trek to the fire
“But Mac, there’s still some apples on that tree. We can’t burn perfectly good apples.”
“Bet I can get more of them than you before he reaches the fire.” AJ prompted
“You’re on sis!”
The two sisters charged from opposite sides of the clearing towards the struggling stallion. Applebloom lunched herself into the air, trying to take the individual apples from the tree with little success.
“Ya gotta buck em’” AJ shouted
“NO!” Came the cry from Big Mac, but it was already too late. With a powerful kick, the tree went flying across the clearing and into the bonfire, leaving a trail of apples along the ground behind it.
Big Mac glared angrily at Applejack, though he was unscathed.
“It worked, didn’t it?” she said, with an innocent smile upon her face.
Applebloom started laughing as she walked up to her two siblings. “She has a point.”
The laughter lightened the mood, as the three ponies joined Granny Smith around the fire. The tree was alight, and the flames jumped high into the sky as the last light of day faded from it.
A howl went up from the forest around them, and then another. Soon the whole forest was filled with the ominous cries
“Them timberwolves are starting early tonight” said Granny Smith, as she handed out metal pots. “It’s time to get to work. The zap apples are coming.”
