I want to thank you all who have already started following me while I'm still getting my groove together. I thought I'd give you some previews on the story I am currently working on for the Most Dangerous Game Contest! That's right I will be putting on hold writing the other stories until I get this one finished. I can pretty much guarantee that I won't be updating either story until the end of next week because I am working on some artwork and this story.
So what is the story? I now present the summary and a small preview of the text for your enjoyment! Thanks again!
JLB Dreams Darker For the Dangerous Game
So far I've given you lighter fair which is what I generally enjoy writing but every once in the while I like to break form and challenge myself so I've picked the prompt involving an old foe being resurrected in another pony. It will be dark and sad for the most part. It will also feature the first pony original character I will be creating for an MLP themed story!
What villain have I chosen? Who will star in it?

Summary Preview
Fluttershy has always believed no situation is hopeless. When she meets an unfortunate orphaned unicorn foal cursed with an evil shadow that haunts him she might have just met somepony she can’t save.
Note: This story has been written for the Most Dangerous Game Contest prompt “Past Sins”. I am rating it teen because much of the story will have a dark and sad tone and there also will be some violence.
As you can see the story will mostly follow Fluttershy and my original character but Celestia, Luna, Discord and the rest of the Mane Six will also make appearances. So have you guessed who the villain is yet? Maybe this short excerpt where Fluttershy first encounters the OC will help:
The foals rushed over and thankfully waited without much pushing and shoving. It was an organized affair with the director suggesting a toy from the basket for each foal and Fluttershy giving it to them. Her attention was drawn to a doorway on the far side of the room where the head of a unicorn foal was peeking out.
“You over there come and get in line,” Fluttershy called to him with a smile.
Though the hallway was dark she could make out that young colt’s red eyes widened as he fell forward into the great room capturing everyone’s attention.
“Oh no its Shadow!” squeaked the pegasus filly at the head of the line.
Fluttershy frowned as she heard similar reactions from the other colts and fillies in the line. The young blank flanked unicorn identified as Shadow’s ears flattened and his frown was accentuated by his light grey muzzle as he glanced around the room. At last he looked up at her and the mare gave him a kind smile.
“I wouldn’t suggest letting young Charcoal in here,” the director suddenly whispered in Fluttershy’s ear. “It will ruin it for the rest of the foals.”
Fluttershy couldn’t believe what she had just heard from the director.
“That doesn’t seem very fair to me,” Fluttershy said glaring at the bay mare at her side.
“Charcoal please go to your room. We’ll bring the basket in to you in a little while,” the director called to the foal and he slinked away.
Fluttershy watched the young colt slink away into the dark hallway. Strangely enough she could almost swear that the darkness in the hallway retreated with him. She swept her gaze across all of the fillies and colts in the room and could see the fear and uncertainty that filled them replaced with relief at his departure.
“Miss Fluttershy let’s finish this.”
The yellow pegasus nodded and smiled reassuringly at the young ones in front of her though the unicorn foal was always in the back of her mind when she handed them another toy. When the last foal took his pick she grabbed up the last 3 toys in the basket.
“Miss Fluttershy what are you doing?”
“Could you please point me in the direction of the young unicorn’s room. You called him Charcoal I believe.”
“You don’t have to take those to him. I can do it.” The mare said nervously.
“Why all of you are afraid of that poor baby aren’t you?”
“Miss Fluttershy he is something of a special case. You see strange things always happen when he’s around, especially when he’s asleep, no one can figure out just what it is. Perhaps it’s a curse but I’ve found it best to keep him away from other ponies as much as possible.”
“He’s cursed?”
“At least his Shadow is. There are times when it disappears completely and others when it doesn’t even look like it belongs to him. The little ponies here swear it has a life of its own and hurt them. That’s why they call him Shadow and not by his true name.”
Fluttershy felt an uneasiness in the pit of her stomach yet her heart was still aching. These ponies were afraid of him and had never tried to help him with this curse but tried to shut him away from life.
“Well, if it’s just the same to you, I’d like to take him these toys to pick from,” she said quietly.

Wow this sounds ferociously dark and quite down my alleyway. i cannot wait until the story is posted. Keep me posted

I generally lean toward adventure and comedy. Writing something where the only point is to intentionally just to be dark or sad or even just to be romantic can bore me so I try to have a decent story I want to tell to write and I think I have a good idea for this one. The only thing I don't like is the word limit won't let me flesh out some of the concepts as well as I'd like but it will be a challenge that way. lol.
2711507 As someone who has spent the better part of his writing on dark (and horror related) stuff I can see your point. It is far from the easiest genre to write and you have to be in a specific mood for it, which is not a happy place. But a challenge is always good so I can't wait to see what you got in store for us). P.S. since you are doing a shadow related story, I could PM you one of mine older work.
Sure. I like stuff involving shadows. I always have for some odd reason. lol.
