    Ten Years of Doctor Perseus

Today marks the tenth anniversary of me creating my account here on FIMFiction. It feels incredibly surreal to type that out. Sometimes it almost feels like yesterday when I was a bright-eyed Brony entering the world of MLP fanfiction for the first time. And sometimes it feels like another lifetime ago.

10 Years After My First Fanfic/My Thoughts on Recent MLP & Doctor Who Content

Hello, everybody! It has certainly been a minute since my last blog post. Like I have said in the past, I am not on here as often as I used to be but I certainly try my best to check on my account whenever I can. In all honesty, I was planning on waiting to write out a blog like this until the tenth anniversary of my FIMFiction account. While I still plan on doing that, I was inspired to write

The 10th Anniversary of Friendship is Magic's Premiere

I know I'm not as active here as I used to be but I felt that I had to at least make a little comment here about Friendship is Magic officially beginning its journey into ten-year status. I can't believe it's been ten years since Friendship is Magic started. Heck, I can't believe it's already been a year since the series ended. Does make me wish that we could have gotten a tenth season in order

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Seasons 3&4

Told ya the wait wouldn't be long. Anyway, here I am to FINALLY close the book on Doctor Whooves once and for all by laying out the rest of what I had planned out for Doctor Whooves. Unlike with Season 2, I'm just going to keep my plans for Seasons 3 and 4 in one blog as I hadn't planned everything out in as much detail as I did the arcs of Season 2. But, still, there is plenty of content to

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Season 2, Arc 3

Yeah...sorry for the long wait on this one. I really have no excuse for taking this long to get around to finally uploading the rest of my plans for what I originally had in store for my Doctor Whooves fanfic series. But I'm here now, for those of you who are still interested in learning about the future I originally had planned for a series I ended well over two years ago. Better being SUPER

The Top 10 WORST Fanfics I Have Ever Read (Part 1) · 12:51am Jan 8th, 2015

The world of fanfiction is a mixed bag, to say the least. There are plenty of great stories and writers out there that are so good that it can make you wonder why these people aren't writing their own amazing, original series and becoming successful authors. Then...you have the people who really, really should have kept their fanfic ideas hidden away in the dark part of their minds. At its core, fanfiction is wish fulfillment: us achieving our desire to "see" our favorite characters experience situations and interact with other characters that have yet to, or will never, appear in canon. But some wishes are most definitely not meant to be granted. Ever since I started getting involved with the world of fanfiction, I've read my share of good and just downright awful stories. So here's a list of the top ten worst fanfics I have personally had the displeasure of reading.

#10: Harry Potter Turns to the Lord

I think anyone with a working brain in their head can tell that the Harry Potter franchise does not promote things such as devil worship. Unfortunately, there are still religious extremists out there who believe this foolish, narrow-minded assumption. My guess is that most of these people read this article from The Onion and didn't realize it was a joke. Harry Potter Turns to the Lord is a product of this mentality. Coming from the mind of one of the select religious extremist individuals in question, this story is a dull, preachy tale about Harry pretty much having extremist Christianity shoved down his throat. The author refuses to go into detail about certain plot elements; such as the supposed "horrible" nightmares Harry is suffering from, which the author never bothers to describe. Harry acts completely OOC as he changes from being an idiot (he flies across the ocean on his broomstick despite suffering from severe sleep deprivation), to acting like Draco Malfoy (he refers to the OC of David as a "lowly muggle"), and to being easily convinced by a complete stranger that his entire way of life is evil based on the teachings of the Bible (which Harry has never read before). The OC of David is a preachy self-insert who is a more annoying mouth peace for the author than Brian Griffin is for Seth Macfarlane. And the story ends with Harry basically becoming a Jehovah Witness and venturing out to spread the word of God to every witch and wizard he can find. It's clear from the get-go that the author of this story did absolutely no research before writing it; and, along with that, the author is also a pretentious, arrogant, self-serving jerk as he reviewed his own story and called it "a masterpiece worthy of Christ's blessing". Blow me. Jesus died for our sins, not so you could write sh*tty fanfiction.

#9: Cupcakes

I'm pretty sure this story needs no introduction. For those of you not in the know, combine MLP with Hostel and Sweeney Todd and you have this story. Pinkie Pie invites Rainbow Dash over to make cupcakes, drugs her, ties her up, and proceeds to torture and operate on her while she's still awake. It's not a pleasant story to read through (to say the least) and I've heard that it actually ruined the character of Pinkie Pie for some people given how in-character Pinkie acts throughout the story (aside from the whole, you know, chopping her friends up and turning them into cupcakes bit). Now, I know what you're thinking. Why is this story so low on the list? Well, for one, it's been revealed that this story was pretty much written as a joke; and, two, this is a story that I've taken some inspiration from in regards to my darker stories. Don't worry. I don't plan to write stories involving MLP characters torturing each other, but those of you who have read my main Doctor Whooves series and/or my story The Lovely Bones: Afterlife of a Murdered Pegasus should know what I'm talking about. But, still, I have no desire to ever re-read this story ever again.

#8: Forbiden Fruit: The Tempation Of Edward Cullen

You thought Twilight was bad enough on its own? Ha ha ha! You haven't seen anything yet. Oh and, no, those aren't typos on my part in the title. That's how the title of this train wreck is actually spelled. This story tells the tale of Atlantiana Rebekah Loren (also known as "Tiana" or "Tia"), a Mary Sue to the nth degree, as she moves to Forks, Washington to live with her new foster parents. In good Mary Sue fashion, "Tia" has numerous superpowers, is ungodly attractive, has an needlessly sh*tty life, and has the eye of every boy she meets. Aside from your usual Mary Sue antics, expected gratuitous sex scenes (one of which involves a magical, talking panda...I wish I were making that up), idiot characters, and bad grammar, the story is also incredibly insulting to rape victims. "Tia" is raped several times throughout the story (once by a drunken Edward and several more times by her evil-to-a-T foster uncle) and she is even impregnated by Edward...and yet the characters (especially Tia herself) treat the rape with as much gravitas as failing to show up for a date. It's insulting, tasteless, and makes the author look like a really despicable human being. The icing on this sh*t cake is that Tia constantly compares male genitalia to vegetables (such as when she describes Edward's "mancarrot"). The story ends with an abrupt cliffhanger (with Edward rushing to save Tia as she's about to be raped by Jacob) and without resolving any of the established plot threads. I'd actually rather sit through Twilight again than read another word from this abomination. But, don't worry, we're not done with Mary Sues just yet...

#7: FaCe ThE StRaNgE

Crossovers are hard to pull off on their own and mega crossovers are even harder. My first fanfic The League of Inter-Dimensional Heroes was a mega crossover involving eight different fandoms and, looking back, it's not that good. However, FaCe ThE StRaNgE makes my mega crossover look like f*cking Shakespeare; and, again, that's how the title of the story was really typed like. This story combines at least fifteen different fandoms. It tells the tale of Dally Darkblood (our Mary Sue for the story) who, at the age if sixteen, has discovered that she's both a vampire and a witch and is now going to train at Hogwarts. On this trip that goes against all established rules of canon, Dally is joined by Edward Cullen from Twilight, Hiei from YuYu Hakusho, and Shadow the Hedgehog from Sonic. This trio of boys is only the beginning of the man harem Dally forms throughout the course of the story, which goes on to include characters such as Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter, Link from The Legend of Zelda, and Sasuske from Naruto. Oh, and let's not forget that Mystique from X-Men is Dally's mom and that she gives Dally mutant powers (like with Hogwarts's admission rules, this author does not understand how mutant powers work). There are Mary Sue antics, extremely OOC characters, and overly-detailed and gratuitous sex scenes galore. The author also doesn't seem to understand how human pregnancy works as Dally gets impregnated by Hiei (after they've had sex over 1000 times over the course of a day) only to give birth a couple days later (at the most). The author also seems to have an extreme case of homophobia as Dumbledore (in another extreme OOC moment) attempts to rape Draco and Hiei and ends up becoming the villain of the story alongside Mystique (who wants to kill Dally and doesn't care about her...even though she willingly gave Dally mutant powers). There's a scene where Bella arrives at Hogwarts and gets kidnapped and raped by Snape; which results in Edward killing both Snape and Bella (the latter of which did NOTHING), Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas takes over Snape's job (and is also bisexual...for some reason), Harry is portrayed as a racist anti-semitic, Ron is abusive to Hermione, characters who are revealed to be gay (such as Hagrid...yeah, he's gay in this story) are killed in needlessly brutal and incredibly hateful ways, and this story's plot is so all over the place that you'd swear you were reading soup. Needless to say, this story is a mess and, like with the previous story, I don't care that it didn't continue after its abrupt cliffhanger ending.

#6: If I Was Your Nazi

So far, I've talked about a story that's insulting to Christians and Harry Potter fans, a story that's insulting to MLP fans, a story that's insulting to rape victims, and a story that's insulting to homosexuals and pretty much every fan ever. Now let's talk about a story that's insulting to Holocaust survivors. This story comes from a girl who is obsessed with Nazi Germany...even though she gets some facts wrong such as how she's unsure if there were women in the Third Reich when history shows that there were. Anyway, this story takes characters from Kingdom Hearts and places them in 1940's Germany. Axel and Roxas are Nazis (even though Roxas is a Jew...yeah, wrap your head around that) and a gay romance begins to blossom between the two. Now, a story about Axel and Roxas being gay with one another is harmless enough; but it's the fact that this author decided to take this concept and place it smack dab in the middle of the Holocaust that makes this story so disgusting. This story features sitcom-esque shenanigans in concentration camps. In. Concentration. Camps. Other KH characters appear as Nazi officials related to real Nazi war criminals. This story just makes me sick. I'm not related to any Holocaust survivors but I can't even begin to describe how sorry I feel for these individuals. Not only for what they went through but for how they have to deal with idiots like this author who sh*t all over the horrors and trauma they experienced. There are many worlds the characters from Kingdom Hearts can travel to but Nazi Germany should not be one of them!

I think I'm going to cut this list in half right here. If you thought the fanfics up to this point were bad, then prepare yourselves for Part 2...

if these are the top 10 - 6, I shudder to think what you have at 5 - 1.

Well those phenomenally awful.

Consider Christian revisionist Harry Potter stories, did you ever hear about this fanfiction that got a certain amount of attention that reimagines the witches and wizards of Harry Potter as fundamentalist Christians instead of witches and wizards? Read all about it here.

I wonder if My Immortal is going to be on this list. I hear that's the worst fanfiction ever written.

I've never heard of that story before. I feel like I should be surprised that there's more stories out there of this nature but I'm not.

#10. This sounds an awful lot like those Chick Tracts that have really vindictive Christian characters. I'm sorry to say that I've actually read a couple of those.

#9. I did a whole piece about grimdarks in general and used this as an example. I really don't like this subgenre of fanfiction.

#8. Wow, this sounds like the type of story that would only exist in a parody of Mary Sue fanfiction.

#7. I'm actually working on a "mega crossover" myself, in which characters from six anime (one of which is just the Sonic X anime [I was running out of ideas at the time]) all fight each other as training to save the worlds. At the moment, this entry makes my story look like the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

#6. To be fair, you could make story where Sora goes to Nazi Germany and is able to whack Hitler with a Keyblade (don't deny it, that sounds awesome), but this... Concentration camps are not the place for romance and comedy; this is where they go to die, literally.

Now that is some bad fanfics right there. I looks forward to part 2.

Do you think HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH might make an appearance?

I suppose so. I mean, if Doctor Who can have one of its characters punch Hitler in the face and then lock him in a cupboard, I guess it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to see a story where Sora whacks Hitler with his Keyblade.

Is there really a fanfic called HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?

2710128 He teams up with Captain America...who is owned by Disney...Marvel Superheores for KH3?

2710133
Yes, although most people prefer to call it 30 H's. It's a 9 chapter long Harry Potter fanfic that kicks off with him and Dobby ************* an astronaut with their groinsaws.
I never made it past the first one or two chapters.

I shouldn't say. It's naughty.

Needless to say it gets much, much worse. Imagine a combination of #9, #4 and #1, and throw in some random fetishes.

If you want I can PM you a link to someone's, uh, review, of it.
