    Question

I have a psychological horror-thriller story that's been in the works for over a year now, and all I have to show for it is one and a half chapters out of nine. I've been waiting to write the whole thing before I publish it, but I feel a little guilty not having published anything in awhile. So, I have a question:

The More Dangerouser Game [writing contest] · 6:48pm Jan 4th, 2015

...is what it should've been called.

Hello, peoples. As you may remember, about six months ago Obselescence threw together a writing contest called the The Most Dangerous Game, where authors were challenged to make good stories out of notoriously poorly done tropes, such as human in equestria or an OC falling in love with a significant character. There were many great entries, and I even snagged the unannounced eighth place with my own entry. This time around, the contest has been revived, but with a new twist. Well, a few, I guess.

Enter the More Most Dangerous Game, happily promoted by Equestria Daily. The spirit of this contest is the same as its predecessor, except that this time the prompts aren't tropes, but other stories themselves. Specifically, fanfics of old that have gained a notorious reputation, both of acclaim and criticism. The stories are Anthropology, Past Sins, Fallout: Equestria, Cupcakes, and My Little Dashie.

The prompts themselves are designed to encourage writing in the same spirit of their respective stories, but you could really go anywhere you want with them. So long as they stay somehow relevant, of course. The only stipulation is that authors are restricted to one prompt, because nobody wants to read a story about how your possessed OC filly named Buffalo Bill turned up in a cardboard box at Twilight's front door and their obsessiveness with humans. Especially me, because I'm helping judge this thing. So your story better have Amethyst Star in it.

The top winners can win art of their winning fics. Also, you get the chance of winning a free Derpy plushie just for entering! All the details are on the Equestria Daily post I linked way up there, and you can find more information such as the discussion thread on Equestria Daily's FIMFic page.

So if you'r looking for an excuse to write, now's as great a time as any. Don't forget to have fun!
