Big Hiatus 2: Electric Boogaloo · 6:40pm Jan 3rd, 2015
Here we go again. 
I'll be departing for three months (again) with little to no internet access, and no time at all for anything fun. So this is goodbye for now, FimFiction.
I only managed to write one thing over this Christmas break, but I had a whole lot of fun doing it. If you haven't already, you should totally read The Snowball Fight. It's quite a silly ride.
I had several other story ideas, including a bunch suggested by you guys, but alas I never got around to writing those. I've kept them in the old idea folder, though, so hopefully I'll be able to do them someday.
Now for the bad news. If any of you remember my last big hiatus, you might remember that I was still able to be contacted for most of it. Sure, contact was slow and not always reliable, but I was able to check my email and respond now and again. That will not be the case this time. There is a slim chance that I might get access to the internet/phone at some point, but if/when I do, I will be far too busy to properly respond to anything. Sorry.
This one's for real. Basic Training was silly, looking back on it, but this one's not gonna be silly at all. This one's gonna be hard.
Wish me luck, I guess, because I'm gonna need it...
However, that brings me on to the good news: When I complete this three month course, I'll be back for good! 
I mean, yeah, it's the Army. I might get slightly busy from time to time... but for the most part I'll be essentially working normal hours. You know what that means? More long-form fanfiction!
I've already got my (probable) next long-fic planned out. It involves Rarity, it involves swords, it involves mystery, and... well, let's not spoil too much now. Suffice to say that it'll be [dark][adventure], and while it won't have many similarities to Mother of Invention, it should fall within the comfort zone I established while writing that story. Make of that what you will.

Anyway, that about sums up my current situation.
TL;DR - Going away for three months, but when I come back I'll be back for good. See you then.

I'm stoked for this next fic! If we're lucky it will play to a very nice overlap of your strengths and my... things-I-like.
Also, I don't know whether to tease you because Canadians have a basic training that can be called "silly", or be alarmed that Canadians are so tough they consider something like basic training "silly". I'll err on the side of the latter out of a general love of Canada. (Of course, for all I know, most basic is "silly", but the way it's represented to Americans is usually more like "arduous", which seems antonym-y.)

In fairness to Basic, it might just seem silly in the face of the infantry course (colloquially: "Battleschool") I'm about to undertake.
Really, most things seem silly by comparison...
Ah, but I'll get through it. And then I'll be right back to making ponies go through horrible experiences for the entertainment of people on the internet.
It'll be lots of fun.
