Story is not dead. Let me explain.
I've worked in retail the past four years, in a children's shoe store located at a local mall.
For a good portion of that time, I've practiced the habit of going to work about two hours early, sitting out in the center court, and writing. That time was time that I chose to set aside for writing. Most of my stories have had most or at least some part of them written during that time.
Now I'm going to have to find a new writing time.
I'm not sure on details, but for some reason, someone higher up in the mall made a decision and we were told a couple weeks before Thanksgiving that our store would be closing.
Yesterday was my last day at the best job I ever had.
I'm glad for the time I had there and, though I don't know what the future will bring, I look forward to whatever is next for me.
That being said, I will now have to find and develop the habit of a new writing time. So, the next chapter of TLoM will be delayed. Progress was slow on it for various reasons and I'd say I'm half-ish done. I'm taking a class at my Alma Mater to prepare for one of the tests I have to take in my chosen career path. I'm sure I can find time to set aside for writing then.
Regards, and an optimistic view of an uncertain future,
Allonso
Sorry about your job closing. I wish you the best. But I am happy about a new chapter soon. Thanks. Happy Holidays.
