    On prying out nails

I'll start by repeating the edit I made at the end of my previous post:

I've already been made aware in comments that the article I linked to is supposedly a fake. I only say "supposedly" because I have no desire to go digging into it and determine if the claim is correct.

    On nails, coffins, and finality

A friend of mine posted this link to Facebook a few days ago. Fair warning, it's got some unpleasant stuff, including an account of what was almost certainly an attempt at sexual exploitation or assault of a young girl.

    "Equoid" by Charles Stross

Having used a pastiche of his fictional "Laundry" agency in Kraken, I feel obligated to point out that Charles Stross recently put up a new story in the series online, titled "Equoid".

    It's about unicorns... sort of.

    Ponies for Pathfinder kickstarter

I only found out about this fairly late in the game, but the makers of a pony race supplement for Pathfinder are running a kickstarter for a new deluxe edition. The original was pretty minimalist, with little to

    I'm not dead!

Holy crap. I just finished chapter 10 of Kraken.

Take a moment to reattach your jaws, if you need to.

A peek into the plot bunny hutch · 11:24am Jun 26th, 2012

I've mentioned in the past an assortment of plot bunnies currently gnawing at me on the RPGnet pony threads, and I felt like trying to collect them all here, just so people have some idea of what I've got in the pipe. I of course can make no promises regarding when I'll get these done, but I'm having loads of fun writing these stories, even when they drift towards darker themes (like Kraken), and I want to tackle all of them eventually:

A young Ditzy Doo, barely out of high school, confides in her roommate and friend Carrot Top that she thinks she's pregnant. While waiting for confirmation and trying to figure out what to do, she reminisces about how she met a tragically widowed unicorn stallion and his adolescent daughter, and came to care deeply for them both.

Dinky and Sparkler are ecstatic to learn that their father is visiting from Canterlot, and Ditzy looks forward to introducing him to her new coltfriend. But Big Mac, despite his stoic exterior, is apprehensive, and struggles to deal with the unfamiliar and unwelcome feelings of jealousy towards his sweetheart's ex-husband and father of her foal.

Dinky Doo is fascinated by astronomy; not that it's her special talent or anything, it's just something she enjoys and keeps coming back to when she's not doing other stuff. Her friend Pipsqueak is fascinated by all things nautical, and wants to learn how sailors navigate by the stars, so who better to ask than the filly in his class who knows stars the best? Unfortunately, the only other thing that fascinates Dinky as much as astronomy is... Pipsqueak. She doesn't want to miss this opportunity to spend time with him, but how can she teach him about celestial navigation if whenever she's near him her tongue can't even navigate her own mouth?

Princess Luna, having finally come to understand the nature of the holiday, attempts to celebrate Nightmare Night a second time. Apocalyptic doom is threatened should offerings of funnel cake and libations of sarsaparilla be inadequate, while parents try to shield their children from the horror of long lines at the ring toss.

Fancy Pants, gentlecolt adventurer extraordinaire and top stallion in Celestia's "Uncivil Service", pays a late night call to a friend he knows can treat his wounds while exercising the utmost discretion: Rarity. It would appear that a delicate situation involving himself, the beautiful yet deadly Fleur de Lis, and a number of thoroughly uncouth diamond dogs has gone a bit pear-shaped. Upon learning the dramatis personae of this particular play, the fair Rarity insists on contributing towards the resolution of this matter, and will brook no dissent on the issue from Sir Pants.

Oh wow!! These all sound so great!

I would really really love :heart::heart: to see the astronomy/Pipsqueak story, followed by the Big Macintosh and the father story.

You had me at "Princess Luna"

And then again at "Fancy Pants".

My top picks would have to be the Dinkysqueak story and Fancy Pants, GENTLECOLT ADVENTURER!

These are gonna be good.

I was hooked at "Sir Pants". :rainbowlaugh:

I cracked up at "Sir Pants". The second one sounds like an interesting read. Well, they're all interesting, 's just that I like that one the most.

I remember the Fancy Pants one! :pinkiehappy:

The Dinky x Pipsqueak one sounds adorable. :D

i look forward to all of these.

These are all incredibly fun ideas. I really hope that you're able to go through with all of them.

Cool. I'm looking forward to it.
