Still alive.

Yo. For anyone who's been following, I'm still here. Sorry. Super Smash Brothers. You know how it is.

So Aethia has been quite the adventure for me thus far. After posting the first chapter some months ago, I thought about things for a while and wound up sending it out along with a few future chapter drafts to various cool folks. After thinking about everything on my own time, along with the feedback I'd received from said sweet fellas, I came to the conclusion that the posting of that first chapter was a bit premature; I jumped the gun and posted it before it was truly ready.

Because of that, those of you seeing the story on the front page today might be confused that I've posted not one, but two new chapters. After much revising, I actually wound up splitting the original first chapter into two; the second chapter, "Instinct," was originally part of the first chapter. The reason for this separation is that I felt the story as a whole would flow better after the adding of a particular passage while revising, and so I went with it.

So yeah. Just wanted to let you new readers know in light of the possible confusion. In regards to future updates, I'm not planning on there being as humongous a gap as there was between today and the original publishing back in September. I've pretty much ironed out all of my problems with the story, for good.
