    Last Train: The Cover!

Hi guys. It's been some time since Last Train From Oblivion last updated, due to my hands being full of Christmas, personal matters and other commitments. Rest assured however that I've not forgotten the story and am very much looking forward to the coming chapters.

Last Train is apparently getting a movie adaptation! Yay!

Don't believe me? Look at the trailer!

    Okay, okay I tease :derpytongue2:

But hey-there, look at the similarities! There's timetravel shenanigans, bitter heroes, an unstoppable enemy with liquid-metal weapons skills, and a tone of grim desperation as the apocalypse dawns.

Heck, I'm pretty sure I see Verity in there.

    The (Mostly) Official Spectrum Timeline

So, we've been promising this for some time. Mention has oft been made in recent missives from the Spectrum-verse that the writers have been collaborating on a timeline. Ah, such grandiosity.

As I'm sure you can imagine, this makes me feel both very wary and very excited. What with Jurassic World and the new Star Wars to be expected alongside this latest Terminator, looks like 2015 is the year the studios are really drawing upon the legacy of the sci-fi greats from the past thirty years.

2633904 Can't they make new sci-fi greats?

2641961 Would be great if they did. I've still got to see Interstellar, heard good things about that movie... because otherwise, the only sci-fi flicks I've seen recently that stood out were Looper and Moon.

I completely managed to miss Interstellar in cinemas too. I'm holding out for DVD release. It has honestly become much easier to avoid movie spoilers now that I:

A: No longer work in a cinema
B: No longer live in a town with a multiplex

Either way, Jurassic World and Terminator are both high on my hope lists for next year. Star Wars...erm...meh, I guess. Though I admit that I cried during the Order 66 sequence when I saw ROTS for the first time. I am interested in seeing a post-Lucas interpretation of the franchise though.

2642356 Honestly, I just went to see Elysium because it had Sharlto Copley.... and because the director would probably have huge guns that shot pure overkill. At least on that score, it didn't disappoint.
