I don't usually read clop-fiction... but when I do, it's by biologic orthodoxy.
Some bronies read clop-fiction. Some bronies even read clop-fiction about the CMC. Personally, I find this more disturbing than a Lyra plushie. BUT.
The Hunger Games has taken in over $400 million. And it is a movie that, from start to finish, is about children brutally murdering other children.
I'm not here to judge you for liking the Hunger Games. I'm here to judge society, for saying on the one hand that people who read stories about ponies having sex with other ponies are sick, but it's TOTALLY OKAY to want to go see a movie about children killing other children.
When did sex become worse than murder?
Wait, you say the Hunger Games has a plot, and is a legitimate story? Yes, it does. But when did anybody condemning clop-fiction ever ask if it had plots? Never.
(It does. Lots and lots of plots.) 
I'm not defending clop, or attacking the Hunger Games. I'm attacking hypocrisy.
Sex became worse than murder when social perception of sex became entangled with political interests...

When I was in high school, we had to go watch a real courtroom trial for civics class. For some reason they took us to a rape trial. The case was that a woman was babysitting, put the kid to bed, and called her boyfriend to come over. He did. She claimed he raped her. He said he didn't. There was no evidence either way. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He was about 18 years old. I don't think I learned the lesson they wanted me to learn.
