I Wish I Could Keep Focus... · 11:47pm Nov 10th, 2014
As many of you may or may not be aware, I have decided to re-work Unknown Pasts. This means that I really have to buckle down and stick to my claims if I'm ever going to be taken seriously here... Note that these are not the only things I'm working on at the moment. In addition to these two stories, I am in a guitar class and I'm preparing my own song for the end-of-semester concert, as a senior in high school, I'm preparing to take the SAT in early December (in case anyone's wondering, I'm going to major in English in college), and I've still got school to focus on for the next, say, seven months...
Yes, it has occurred to me that school is the reason for almost all of my stress, but there's not much I can do about that at the moment... I'm sure things will go much more smoothly in college, so next year, I'll be much more prompt with my chapters and stories. I HATE the fact that I can't just write all day. In fact, it's my dream to become a creative writer and have some novels published. (I would be much more happy if I could live in Japan and do that, but that's a story for another day)
According to certain people, that's a stupid dream. It doesn't bother me. Even if it isn't a great living and I'll struggle a bit at the beginning, I'll be happy at the end while those "certain people" are flipping burgers or kissing up to some boss somewhere. Sounds pretty great to me, anyway.
But, I digress. What I really wanted to say through all of this is a simple, possibly under-used, statement: thank you. Not just to any one person or a small group of people, but to everyone who's read any one of my stories. Your likes, dislikes, comments, favorites, critique, and, overall, judgement of my work is something that I cherish. It's weird knowing that, before I came here, my ideas were floating around in my head, waiting to be put into words. Now, not only are my ideas words, but people are reading those words and, to my knowledge, enjoying them! It's awesome knowing that I brighten someone's day by adding a chapter to a story or make someone think about how situations will bring about certain feelings and discoveries! If you aren't writing, you should be. It's something that anyone can enjoy, regardless of skill or creativity. As long as you like it, it's good.
One last time: thank you. Without you guys, I would just be some weirdo typing into a word box.
