National Ponyfic Writing Month WEEK 1 · 10:48pm Nov 8th, 2014
So now my birthday is wrapping up and my friends are all sent home on buses and coaches and trains, I feel like I can sit down and give a little report on how the first week of NaNoWriMo has gone.
1) Word Count Goal: After seven days I've reached 20,137 words, which is incredible compared to my expected ~15,000. This sets me well on the way to completing NaNo early this year, which is rather necessary if I want to polish this thing up by December.
2) Chapter Goal: I'm nearly finished on chapter 5 of 15, which is about where I want to be for my wordcount but possibly a little behind where I feel I should be by now.
3) Strangest Twist: Aside from the first twist, where the story decided to be... less than chronologically optimal, I think the weirdest twist was when I veered very clearly into "dark" tag territory on Thursday night and was nearly in tears writing. I mean, I knew this was going to be a tragedy from day 1, but I didn't expect that.
3) Best Moment: Still has to be really early on, an adorable exchange of obstinate nuzzles. TwiDash cuteness just wins out over the rest of the fic for me, I guess.
4) Best Day: Friday, just beating day 1 with 5,035 words written in a measly five(ish) hours.
