Thorn, and a Future Project · 12:52am Nov 8th, 2014
So Thorn is up. This is a different story than usual: there won't be any ponies beating each other up, in spite of the fact that Hecate could take on a small - or not so small - army by herself. That'll all be saved for Hecate's Orphanage, in the future.
Instead, it'll be all character development, looking at Thorn as he grows up, and touching now and again on Thesis' life, because I always wanted to show... what Thesis was like before he got all uh. Horribly screwed up. One day, maybe I'll go back and write about Thesis: I know he was a crazy, all over the place character in Synthesis, but hopefully he'll make a little more... sense, to anyone who reads this story. And of course, Thorn of the Rose is really a lead-in to Hecate's Orphanage, the more-direct fourth in the sort of little series I've inadvertently written.
Speaking of which, the next project I have in the works isn't Hecate's Orphanage, but rather, I'm going to work on Back Where We Don't Belong. You can probably guess what that is a sequel to. However, I don't plan to write it: rather, I'm going to use my miserable art skills to do a comic form of it. I'm interested in hearin' people's opinions on this, and in what people would like to see from it: if it should be black and white, or I should do color panels, what people would like to see, things like that. And where I should post it, too: I'm thinking of making a tumblr for it, since that's what everyone seems to use.
It'd be something to kill time until I can find the time to work on Hecate's Orphanage, since drawing right now is easier than writing. As a few people might have guessed. I could probably manage a page a week, especially since I don't plan on posting it until I have the first five pages done, and possibly a few in reserve. I won't start really working on it until Thorn's is all posted up, but uh... you know. Something to keep busy, and maybe something to catch people's interest.
And I think it'll only defer slightly to Where We Don't Belong: you won't have to read the story to get what's going on in the comic.
So. Yes. That's the plan for now.

Hmm, a comic would be interesting to see. Personally, I'd like to see it done in black and white with the odd coloured panel/page near the beginning or end of a chapter, or just during certain high points in the story.

Yeah, I think that would be good myself. I think part of what will contribute to any colors will be when I show things through Daturavision.
