Dash The Stampede

That crazy girl that writes random comedies, detailed inanimate transformations, and sad/dark heartwrenchers. $$60,000,000,000 says you can't catch me! I'm the Equestrianoid Typhoon! Peace and Love!

He walks alone, huddled over the console by day, over the wallet by night. Some peg him as a gamer. Some are not wrong. He indeed plays a game, but not the game you think...

Button Stash: Hindsight ain't got $%*# on me · 3:19pm Nov 3rd, 2014

Last night, after being hounded by my mind to do something for the Button Mash thing Obselescence started, a hot shower brought my inspiration:

Dark, noir-esque fiction, taking a serious look at the idea, based off one particular implication of the word 'stash'.

Perhaps more relevant would be the stash jar.

The idea was partially spawned because I have my face in a tasty noir fic as of now, and the descriptively dark atmosphere bled into my writing last night. Or this morning, depending on what time it was at 2 am EST for you. I almost feel as though I made it too pretentious in mood, but I tried to balance the aspect of 'double lives' for effect on the dark tag.

Sure, I could make it straight darkness, and have an overuse of the dark tag. However, the best use of dark is where it creeps through the cracks of innocence, the shiny picture of perfection crackling with the residue of desperation as the colors slowly fade. Where there's something inherently wrong about the situation, and yet, the connection isn't made until the most advantageous of times. When that connection is made...

Then we see the darkness as it truly is: shadows in the day, seemingly harmless, but possessing secrets that hide in the corner of our eyes, waiting for a turned back to send shivers up their spine.

That's the feeling I aimed for here, relatively. 2k words don't really give you much, but that vagueness should help along the plot.

So, basically, go check out Button Stash, something that I legitimately worked on, two hours of retyping and edits to create a serious take on a comedic 'meme'. I'd love to hear what you think, it's a different writing style than I'm used to, and I want to know how I did.

Thanks to those few who have favorited so far, I appreciate the approving nod.

Swoot! Popbox!
