31 Nightmares: Midnight Meat Train · 2:57am Oct 30th, 2014
We have here another adaptation of Clive Barker’s work, this one of his short story The Midnight Meat Train which can be found in The Books of Blood anthology which I highly recommend.
A struggling young photographer in New York sets out to capture the black, pulsing heart of the city, and in the process finds himself drawn into one of its blackest secrets.
This is an extremely clever, brilliantly shot and directed movie, visceral, vicious and violent. It is a slasher movie that explains everything that happens in it. Why is the killer seemingly unstoppable? Because he’s dressed in armor and usually attacks the unarmed by surprise. Why are the police useless? Because the police are in on it? What are the reasons? More terrible than you could possibly guess.
I am not going to explain more, because you need to watch this fucking movie. I’m guessing that not a lot of people have, Lionsgate seriously fucked it on distribution. Midnight Meat Train played in only a handful of theaters and only for a short time before unceremoniously being dumped on DVD.
Watch this fucking movie people. Please, if you take none of my other recommendations seriously then at least watch this one, you will not be disappointed.
Well friends, Halloween is almost upon us. Only two more films for Halloween, Halloween, Halloween. Two more films for Halloween, Silver Shamrock!
You reposted.
Also, after watching Nostalgia Critic, I get the reference.
