    Question

I have a psychological horror-thriller story that's been in the works for over a year now, and all I have to show for it is one and a half chapters out of nine. I've been waiting to write the whole thing before I publish it, but I feel a little guilty not having published anything in awhile. So, I have a question:

Status Report: Sleep: Deprived: The Reckoning: Geting Back Into the Swing of Things: Too Many Colons: Redux · 5:19pm Oct 8th, 2014

Heya folks, long time no words.

Consider September to be the month of inactivity. Life’s been thrown into a rinse cycle for me as of late, but now things are finally starting to settle. You can expect the next not-so regularly scheduled installed segment of my Read It Later reviews series thing in maybe a week or two. I’ve also got a few stories I’ve been silently working on in the background, and instead of jumping in between them all like I have been, I’d like to know which one you’d all want to see first.

But before that, this:

As you probably know, the Equestria Daily Outside Insight contest wrapped up about a month ago. I walked away with eighth place for my story, Sylphidine, which won me a piece of fan art as a prize. Specifically, that one embedded right up there. It still makes me giddy to look at.

I was lucky enough to get assigned Pixel-Prism, one of my favorite artists. You’d probably recognize her work in creating that not-so secret shipping card game, as well as the cover art for this little thing. Some of you may have heard of it.

Anyways, Pixel-Prism is probably one of the nicest people I’ve had the good fortune of talking to. I don’t think she’s taking commissions at the moment, but she’s extremely talented and easy to converse with, so if you’re looking for somebody to pay in exchange for beautiful artwork, I fully recommend her services. Go check out her deviantArt, follow her on Tumblr, stalk her on twitter, or patreon her on... patreon.

So yeah. Now the stories I’m working on! Lawd knows I’ve got too many, but there's some in particular that have been occupying my head lately. So here’s where you step in (if you want) and tell me what to focus on, and what you’d like to see first. So let’s get this started.

Derpy and Carrot Top go on an Epic Quest to Save the World: King Sombra’s back in town and Twilight has her hooves full trying to stop him from turning everything into crystals. She’s anticipating a very important package from Princess Cadance, something that undoubtedly will provide the answer she needs to defeat him once and for all. However, Twilight is a little busy at the moment, so she needs somebody to get that package to her pronto the second it arrives. Unfortunately, Spike’s away in Canterlot and Cheerilee isn’t home. So now it looks like it’s up to Derpy and Carrot Top to save the world.

Door Walker: Oh, how I wish I could use Obs’ contest as an excuse for me writing this... This is a story about a pony who has a curse. Every door he opens connects randomly to another door anywhere in the world, so he could be opening the door into an office and enter a restroom on the other side of town. I want to write this in the 2nd-person and make it a romance, largely because of the challenge in making a very bad idea into something good, as in the spirit of Obs’ contest. The romance will be more one-sided along the same lines of Time & Disregard, in a way. I don’t think I can ever write two characters actually falling in love.

I blame the squirrel.

Daring Do and the Unmarked Ghost: This is a relatively simple philosophical analysis of cutie marks, destiny, fate, and all that hooey. Daring Do talking to the dead. What’s not to like there?

Timber: This is one of the oldest things I’ve been working on (since 2012!) and I still haven’t moved much past the prologue. The gist of it is that a filly befriends a timberwolf, and she learns more about them in their presence than most books know. After a pony gets killed in the Everfree, it’s up to her to save her newfound friend, and in turn the forest itself. There’s not much in terms of world building, but the mythology of timberwolves and the Everfree forest is explored intensely. Also, lots of fighting. Maybe some philosophy. I blame the stranger.

There’s also a project I’m calling “A9” for now. In short, it’s like a crossover between the shitty 1408 movie and Silent Hill, but with ponies and on a train. Let’s see if I can’t fart this out for Nomowomowhatever.

Well, that’s all I wanted to say. Toodles for now.

Now the stories I’m working on!

And the Stars Will Set Her Free is the only story you need to be working on.

:trollestia:

Door Walker sounds like a great idea... except for the second person part. I guess we'll just have to see how well you pull it off. Timber as well.
