The idea I'd settled on was about an OC tentatively named Stab Le (because puns), who was the writer for the Power Ponies comics. The story would basically be that when Twilight died, they decided to kill off the Masked Matterhorn as a sort of tribute to her, because she was modeled after Twilight and all. So the Masked Matterhorn died a touching and heroic death, sacrificing herself to save the world and make it a better place. Everypony agreed that it was a wonderful tribute to Twilight, and it was one of the best-selling comics ever. And Stab Le, over the course of writing that comic, became especially touched by it and by Twilight, the changes she wanted to make, and everything she stood for.
A few years later, comic sales are down, and the higher-ups at Marevel decide that, in order to boost sales, they want the Masked Matterhorn to come back from the dead, because that's just what happens with superheroes. Stab Le is furious when he hears this, and the remainder of the story is his fight to keep her dead.
So that's pretty much it. Maybe I'll finish it someday if Rated Ponystar likes it/doesn't mind. We'll see.
