The following is a list of types of spirits (from strongest to weakest), what kinds of ponies can see them, and how rare they are on a scale of one to five, (five being the rarest).
This only applies to my story, King of Monsters.
Rank 1, Avatars.
These are physical manifestation of a concept. (Ex: Combat, Peace, Worry, a Forest.)
As these spirits are physical manifestations, they can be seen by all.
Rarity: 5.
Rank 2, Elementals.
A spirit that was never alive to begin with that are attached to the natural elements (fire, water, earth, wind etcetera, etcetera). They have the ability to manipulate their element.
As they have attached themselves to the natural elements, they can be seen by all.
Rarity: 3.
Rank 3, Ghosts and Phantoms.
Powerful and, most of the time, angry spirits of the deceased that tend to not want to cross over, y'know go into the light. They can take physical forms and interact with the living. Their unfinished business tends to end with a living pony dying.
They can be seen by all when in physical form. When not in their physical form, they can only be seen by other spirits, mediums, and shamans. They can also be sensed by necromancers. They can be given a permanent physical form if they are empowered by a necromancer.
Rarity: 3.
Rank 4, Earthbound Souls.
Weaker spirits of the deceased who can not interact with the living, but can interact with their surroundings to communicate (Ex: pencil and paper, Ouija boards.)
They can only be seen by powerful mediums and shamans, since they have no physical form. Necromancers can not see them or sense them.
Rarity: 1.
Rank 5, Wraiths.
Entities created by the merging of negative emotions of multiple spirits (usually 3-5 or 5-10) who have crossed over (negative emotions are left behind when a spirit crosses over, this is because a spirit need to be at peace in order to cross over). Wraiths become stronger by absorbing the negative emotions Earthbound Souls, they do this by keeping Earthbound Spirits from crossing over.
Just like Earthbound Souls, they can only be seen by powerful mediums and shamans.
Rarity: 2.
More types will be added as the story goes on.
