Grey Guard Pony passed away on 12/7/2018.

Sorry, I'm Zalabar; a friend who was asked to spread the word. Somehow I didn't think of posting here. Instead it was... well, direct message to the few we both knew. Phyco put up a blog on it back in December; https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/838448/dust-in-the-wind

It was the cancer, and GGP passed in their sleep.

My apologies for the prolonged radio silence coming from this account. It's been a rough past couple of months.

    Fuck cancer so hard.

    New Rainsverse Fic!

Just giving my followers who enjoy the Rainsverse a heads up. The next fic in that AU has passed the que and is now available to start reading.

In this one, we begin to delve into the fallout of Chroma's attack on The Heartlands and the fate of the Everfree Rangers in particular. If you're interested in seeing what happens next, go give it a look!

    Writing Lessons: Blood and Ponies

    ...This fic exhausted me.

If there is one over-arching lesson I learned from this little crossover is that having a plan for your story, even if you end up deviating from it, is important. It gives you at least a loose guide that you can follow and for someone with ADD having something that can help keep you on focused and on track ends up being really important.

    Weird Stores

I had a medical appointment today and saw two of the weirdest stores I ever have on the way to and from the appointment.

On the way out I passed Valhalla: Indoor Axe Throwing.

On the way back I passed Break Room: Therapeutic Demolition.

It is now a goal in my life to visit both of these stores out of sheer, morbid curiosity.

Schlocktober · 10:29pm Oct 1st, 2014

Welcome to October everyone!

While some people care for summer, and others for winter, I am much more of a fall person. The depths of autumn with its cool winds and the swoosh of leaves on the ground. Love it, love it, love it! You know what I also love? Bad movies! Or at least a specific kind of bad movie. I grew up on the kind of schlocky, bad acting, bad special effects B-Grade monster movies that were the staple of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and the like.

Any of my followers who hang out over at the video game website The Escapist, are probably familiar with their contributor Bob "Moviebob" Chipman, who does the two shows Escape to the Movies (a movie review show) and The Big Picture which is more a discussion of general topics in geekdom. But every October, he does four weeks of episodes where he shows off and discusses obscure science fiction and horror movies that totally fit the above mold.

I think it's a great idea, and is something I look forward too every October. So, in a show of solidarity with mister Chipman, that is totally not me ripping off his style, I will be doing my own mini-Schlocktober this year! Four articles about the kind of cheesy, B-Grade, science fiction movies that I absolutely love!

See you all in this space this Friday, where I begin this Shlocktober with the natural starting point. Ants!

Solidarity.

Solitary is when you're by yourself: I'm not sure how you might be solitary with someone else.

But then, I know you: You would find a way. You always find a way.

Curse you spell-checker!

True, summer is just to warm and winter is too cold. I prefer the nice moderate levels of spring/fall where I can wear a t-shirt if I want or still go with a sweater.

On the topic of B-grade movies well I often don't watch them and really I'm not even sure what should be counted as horror really since nowadays it's mostly gorefests than true fear inducing flicks. Maybe I'll get every Doctor Who episode that has the Weeping Angles and watch those. Now those things are freaking creepy.

So, in a show of solidarity with mister Chipman, that is totally not me ripping off his style,

Well, if your going to rip anyone off, might as well be one of the best. :scootangel:

The gorefest that is modern horror has just never clicked with me. Though horror in general is something I've always had this kind of back and forth relationship with. Really though, throwing buckets of blood on the screen has never struck me as impressive.
