So I've counted up the votes for who will star along with Rarity for my next pony fic, and the results are:
I don't quite know what it is about Coco Pommel you all like, but she was still got the most votes by a fair margin at 12 votes. So the mousy clothes designer it is! At least it can lead to some nice Rarity and Coco moments. Which I'm sure most people would find welcome.
Our third winner overall is:
Blossomforth managed to barely edge out Trixie by one vote for a total of 9 votes.
So we have an odd gang here for Rarity, Coco Pommel, and Blossomforth. Oh boy, this is going to be a tough one to come up a story for...
Nice trio of ponies. Though with those three, the obvious hook would be "Rarity and Coco must make some kind of outfit for Blossom."

An interesting combination...
I personally voted for Coco and Trixie mostly because we've not seen anything of them yet.
That said, I wouldn't exactly call Coco shy, as much as... naive, I guess. I can't exactly call her innocent, cause at the same time, she's also lived in a rather pessimistic world for a while, where it's "every mare for herself". Then Rarity and her friends comes along and throws this entire belief over its head. When, despite having been taken advantage of, Rarity still won out, because of said virtues even.
This is just conjecture, but I'm guessing part of her appeal is how many people relate to her, how she's had a cynical viewpoint blown away by the mane 6, in much the same way a lot of us have. Plus, it helps that she has an overall nice design and a rather appealing demeanor.
This is just me pondering on her appeal though; I could be way off and being over-melodramatic.
There's also the appeal of a heel-face turner, a bad guy turned good. It's always an interesting character archetype.

If only we could replace Rarity with Fluttershy, we would have three of a kind.
