    What to name Puzzle’s organization?

So as many of you have no doubt noted in Freeport Venture: Tears in the Rain, there’s going to be some restructuring within Puzzle’s organization. Among those changes will be Puzzle giving his organization an actual name. Though as of this moment I haven’t found a name that I’m satisfied with yet, so I thought I would turn to my many wonderful readers and see if they could come up with

    Winningverse/Freeport Venture/ Lunar Rebellion Timeline

Below is a general timeline of significant events in the main continuity to give an idea of how everything is ordered, even if this is by no means a comprehensive list of events. Things are also subject to change as new stories are written, and we come up with new ideas with which to expand on.

Winningverse/Freeport/Rising Fire and Other AU's Explained

With the publishing of Rising Fire I couldn’t help but notice that there was a bit of confusion of what is and isn’t canon in the Winningverse, and how everything is interrelated with one another. So I decided to write up this blog post in the hopes of clearing some stuff up. In truth, I’ve been thinking about making a few posts for the Winningverse group forum for a FAQ and an updated

BronyCon 2019: The End of an Era

There is something inherently sad about something coming to an end. Something unique and wonderful is now over, and I found myself writing this at the airport and on the airplane, waiting, leaving Baltimore, perhaps for the last time. It’s as I do so that I contemplate the past, present, and future both for myself and the fandom.

What to name Puzzle’s organization? · 9:27am Dec 9th, 2019

So as many of you have no doubt noted in Freeport Venture: Tears in the Rain, there’s going to be some restructuring within Puzzle’s organization. Among those changes will be Puzzle giving his organization an actual name. Though as of this moment I haven’t found a name that I’m satisfied with yet, so I thought I would turn to my many wonderful readers and see if they could come up with anything.

So what do all of you think? What could Puzzle name his rebuilt organization?

I suppose "Puzzle Solutions" would be a bit too cute?

Puzzle Connections

I want there to be a Piece/Peace pun in there.

The Green Hornets?

Freeport's Trustworthy Information Services. Or anything with the name Trustworthy in it so that every time Cold Comfort looks at Puzzle's yacht that he bought he is reminded about how he failed to accomplish his goal of eliminating Puzzle Piece. And the yacht could double as unintentional free advertisement for Puzzle's new organization.

Why not the og puzzle piece's problem solvers
Or problem solved services
Or Freeport's Missing Piece
Or Solver Solution Services
Or freeport's puzzling problems
Or puzzling problem solvers
Or puzzling problem solutions
Or Smart solution solvers

a puzzler is someone who composes and/or solves puzzle.
So maybe something with that.
I'll think of more later

My trouble is that my names lean towards either cool (or “cool”) or punny, but Puzzle prides himself on professionalism so those set the wrong tone.

Honestly I might go for something incredibly straightforward yet vaguely intimidating like The Network. Which also has a more modern tone to contrast Freeport’s usual drama. And whatever the exact name it should definitely have “The” in there, implicitly positioning everyone else’s organization as inferior wannabes.

Or maybe something to signify how different the organization is. Changed puzzle problem solvers?.... nah. Or maybe a name to spite the masks. Maskless solvers? This will take some time....

I need to think of something with trustworthy in its name. Trustworthy Truth Traders... hahaha no.... hmmmmm

The missing piece problem solvers
We are the piece you are missing to have your problem solved.

I like it, it's just cute enough...

Confident Confidential Collectors / Collection Agency

5166629
The problem with intimidating is it tends to become too edgy. Before all this I would have said syndicate solutions.

Adaptive Solutions

Not if Heartstrings suggested it

I like this. Maybe The Confidence Agency or something in that neighborhood.

Make it a name that can later be used for puns or a recurring joke.

If it's named "Reliable Solutions" then whenever Sunset casts doubt on his plans, he can fire back that he's the leader of an extremely reliable organization. If it's named "Polite Inquiries", then there's obviously cognitive dissonance between the name and their actual business practices.

Ditto for including "Trustworthy", "Ethical", "Timely", "Truth", "Secrets", etc. somewhere in the name.

Bonus points for alliteration.

Bonus points for an acronym that also fulfills any of the above. "Ethical Village Investigations League" becomes E.V.I.L.!

To max your score, go for a title that presents cognitive dissonance between the name of the organization and its common business practices, that is able to be used for a recurring joke, that has alliteration, and that has an acronym for any of the above.

I suppose that depends on what he’s trying to present. Is the name still part of a cover? If so, having it keep a sort of respectable businesslike name like “Solutions Inc.” might work. If he’s trying to make it clear that he means business now and plans on making himself a known quantity to be respected and feared, a more intimidating and ominous name might suffice, like The Hive, The Syndicate, The Eyes, or possibly even just The Organization. I’m personally partial to “The Eyes” myself. It would certainly send a message to Cold. I suppose “Regicide Inc.” could work if he wants to make a statement to Chrysalis, but I’m not sure that he wants her aware of his plans yet.

5166773
What dissonance? Puzzle's people are very polite...when possible :p

5166804
Regicide, Inc probably would send the wrong message to Celestia and drag them into the Zebrican civil war.

Puzzle is a very savvy businessman with a reputation for professionalism, so I would assume that he would come up with something that would appeal to potential clients. Something that would appeal to wealthy and high class individuals and would portray an air of "I can accomplish this task with utmost efficiency and professionalism". Something like, Executive Outcomes.

5166627
That assumes Cold isn't totally dead in the next chapter.

Admittedly, I am growing attracted to the idea of ____ Solutions as a name idea. Just have to pick a good name that goes along with Solution.

5166942
Puzzle Piece's Trustworthy Solutions or just Trustworthy Solutions. Refer to my first post for the reason of including Trustworthy in the name.

5166975
I like Trustworthy Solutions. Especially since, from many points of view, it's completely true while from others it's completely false.

5166983
I second this as a good choice. If only I had seen his post sooner.

Sophisticated Solutions. or Savvy, Sensible, Sufficient, Succinct, Smart, Superb, Sylvan, etc.

http://adjectivesthatstart.com/with-s/

Scarab Solutions (lol run by a bugponi)

https://www.amentsoc.org/insects/glossary/begins/with/s

Soviet Solutions (make up something funny to explain the name)

Six Solutions (referring to six company values of a, b, c, d, e, f)

Hm, something like Torchbearer would probably be too on the nose, between Torch’s fame and Sunset’s rising star. Although something warm or fire related as a counter to Cold Comfort might work?

Morningstar would be too pretentious, but its hard to tell what direction Puzzle will really go in from here (with the long term goal of reforming Freeport and taking on Chrysalis).

Face to Face Negotiators? Given his rivalry with the Masks and the Council but that might be too on the nose. I’m not good at this creativity thing anyway.
