So in the Author's Note of Nonconsensual Spellcasting, I mentioned that there was a number of references I made. None of them are really of any import, but there was one that stuck with me that I was kinda sad that nobody picked up on, or at least pointed out. The reference I am referring to is the Spike/Cyrus dichotomy.
See, Spike the dragon shares his name with Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop, who at one time was a member of a crime syndicate called the Red Dragons. No reference there yet, but just an interesting little tidbit. Now, Spike Spiegel is voiced by the voice actor Steve Blum. Now, Steve Blum—like many voice actors—gets around, and also happened to do a voiceover in my current video game fixation: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II. That character is the totally badass Space Marine scout, Sergeant Cyrus. Now, at first, I hadn't even considered the whole Spike Spiegel connection, and had just wanted to make a reference to a game I liked, but after the fact, I realized that it was a pretty neat coincidence. Sure, the train of thought to make the connection is a little... lateral, but a lot of my logic goes that direction anyhow.
Just wanted to share that little bit of information with you because I thought it would be fun.
PS. The bonus chapter is coming along... slowish. On the one hand, I'm still pretty burned out on writing—just getting that done, never mind in three days—but on the other, I really need to get back into it or else I might just never do it again. Maybe after I finish DoWII and before I move into the Chaos Rising campaign...

Wow, late with this I know but I didn't say anything because I thought that it NOTHING to do with Scout Sergeant Cyrus, I didn't pick up on the reference per-se, it came to mind because I've heard people jokingly refer to Cyrus as Spike Spiegel. I just thought I was thinking too much about Warhammer 40k.
Cudos though, even if I didn't see it
