... but I'm rewriting Apples & Rainbows. Yes, again, and I sincerely apologize. I'm liking the way it's turning out, though, and I'm going to finish the story first this time and then upload it. No gaping holes in the update flow this time, and you'll finally get to see the end.
I ascribe this sudden decision to Eternal, a great -- no, incredible -- story written by device heretic. I've been reading it over the last couple of weeks and it's just written so well. I can't really do it justice with words, just that I really feel like I've taken something to heart from it in terms of writing. Compared to the Apples & Rainbows you see now, Eternal has mountains of description and exposition.
That is what I aim to change about my story, and all future stories. I realize now that I've been writing far too little, already knowing the details myself, and that is simply not the way to write. I'm ashamed that it took this long and reading another story to understand what I've been doing, but I hope this is the first step on the road of improvement -- for both me, as a writer, and you, as a reader who wants to understand just what the hell is actually going on in my stories.
tl;dr Apples & Rainbows is being rewritten to suck a lot less.
Just as long as you actually finish the story at some point and don't cancel it on us
174677 Even though I said I wanted to give up, I really didn't want to. I can act rashly at times. You know what they say, though: third time's the charm! Reading Eternal was like an epiphany of sorts, and I haven't felt this motivated to write in a long time.
It also makes me feel good when people leave comments, such as you've done a lot. That's also a motivating factor: to know there are people who actually want to see this, and say so to make it known. Thank you.
