It's the obligatory new year blog post.

And yes, I am posting this at around midnight on new year. I have a nasty cold, so I decided to disobey nurgle's one command and stay home.

    Just for kicks

I'm mucking around with Lulu for a work-related project (very boring stuff) and thought I would do a quality test with something fun.

    Oh shit, words

Or maybe that comma is in the wrong place. I haven't decided yet.

    The odd things

I've just been reading through old comments on my scraps story, after publishing yet another chunk from the ancient cutting room floor. It's remarkable how many of the commenters are still around - but also how many logged off for the last time, soon after making their last comment there.

    But in brighter news

While I'm not making any promises about any particular project here, I am actually writing again. I figure if I write enough of something, some pony words might drop out somewhere along the line as well. You never know. What I'm working on at the moment is essentially a re-write of a story I read a long time ago; an old pulp sci-fi tale, about a spaceship that manages to get lost in the

Curiosity: Based on my writing, what do you think my political positions are? · 9:43am Sep 4th, 2014

I'm probably opening a huge can of worms asking a question like this, but I'm curious to know what people think my stance might be on various issues and how much of the "real me" leaks through into my fiction.

Of course this means you have to read everything I've written. :derpytongue2:

Political? I'll pass this one. I am completely apolitical. I don't even know what there is to choose from. :P

Somewhat left-leaning in a "wait, racism makes no sense, why do people try to sneakily endorse it? Oh, wait, they don't see it as it being there" as seen in "To be a mule" and "Morning Glory".

Also, slightly distrustful of big government, as seen in "Succession".

No idea where you stand on abortion or religion, though.

Pragmatic, in a way. But as for leanings, its best left that way to be enigmatic for good reasons.

Forgot also other things:

I'd say you're also somewhat sex positive and favorable (but not campaigning for) to rights of LGBT-QIUA people*.
Translated in normal people talk: you don't hate teh gays and trannies, as seen in "The Berbs and the Biis".

I'd also say you're following the most moderate form of feminism possible, but that's just a shot in the dark.

Also, I must admit I'm slightly cheating; I also follow your tumblr, and from that I can see you hate anti-brony people in particular and SJW activism in general (or at least you're deeply distrustful of it (for fairly good reasons, though)).

*Did I forget something?...of course I did, the extreme positions of this kind of activism are never sated.

I don't care. Keep up your writing. :ajsmug:

Darn.

I'd have to say left-leaning with conservative ideals in regards to the government. Although I could be looking at this through a more Americano point of view since I'm not too sure what the dealio in the UK is.

From a UK viewpoint: Mildly left of center, would be my best guess

From a US viepoint: Communist socialist son-of-Stalin who hates MUH FREEDOMS N' GUNS N' JESUS

Normal, if a bit British.

All opposed?

Well, I just saw a blogger on Watts Up With That named archonix. Would it be safe to assume that you're a skeptic of (C)AGW, or was that someone else?

:unsuresweetie: This is why Brits should stick to comparing people to their own political arena.

I think his religious stance was actually made out in a blog post he made a while ago, talking about how a scientist had found a (possible) explanation for how life on Earth got started. Knee jerk reaction to that says Agnostic or Atheist. That's not an ironclad assumption, though, I admit. There's plenty of people who believe in God-driven evolution, for example.

Pro-donkeys, anti-anti-alcohol.
