Dear Princess Luna, next comes the pony who most enjoys the night, my father Night Light. Head Librarian for decades at SSU and an avid researcher, he would poor deep into the night with study because he said the calm peace that comes with the dark makes it easier for him to focus. While he has retired in the last few years, he still helps out part time at the school, mostly with the Deep Study Club, a student group dedicated to learning more of the details of things that others might overlook when summarizing history... I'm not ashed to admit I was a member for some time myself. As always here for your assistance, Dusk Shine.

Close relationships: Twilight Velvet, wife, fell in love while she was still a student going to Star Swirl University due to her constant attention while he worked as an assistant Librarian just before graduating. Shining Armor his older son, and pride of the royal guard. Dusk Shine, his younger son and personal student of Princess Celestia. Princess Cadence, currently dating his older son.
Personality: A bold contrast to his wife, Night Light is a quieter man who enjoys little else more then a good book and is likely the source of my own love of reading. Forever attached to a novel he will do anything to encourage others to pick up a good book, often spending hours hunting down just the right title to hook them in on a good story.
Skills and Quirks:
Unicorn Magic – A noted and powerful student back in his day. I remember hearing form more then one of my teachers that if he hadn't been so obsessed with reading he could have graduated just as young as I had on simple merits of his magic alone.
Bookworm – People may call me a bookworm, but if I'm the worm, he is the shark. Watch out for him in any Library or Bookstore as he is always adding to a private collection he is building.****
Research Scientist – Not content to take others word for it, he spent a lot of my youth showing me how to reenact others experiments. To see if they had missed something that might change the whole situation. Always thinking of ways to improve others study methods as well.
Educated – A full graduate of Star Swirl University by 27 with extra credits in topics including history and magical theory.
* - Jokes mother use to make as even at parties he had to be reminded to put his book down.
** - It was a fun group, they always had great suggestions on what to read for extra credit!
*** - And now I realize were some of my own neuroses likely come from...
**** - Currently he lives with mother in the gryphon embassy and has converted most of their basement into a private library. They don't approve much.
