    It's late

But my brain isn't quiet. I'm stoned out of my goddamn gourd. Don't worry, it is just my usual regimen of drugs. That's how I spent a lot of my time now. Wasted. Doesn't really help with the pain much, but makes it a bit more tolerable. All of my drugs cost over 5 grand a month. That's what it takes to keep me going. I'm in somewhat better shape because of all of it, and there's a few bright

    Cyborgification is potentially a-go

Finally found a doctor that didn't run screaming upon seeing my spine images and xrays. The team is coming together. Met with the neurosurgeon the other day, and he thinks I am an ideal candidate for augmentation. The transition is happening, I think. I still have to pass a psych evaluation and other steps, but I am closer now than ever. First I'll have the trial run; they'll sink electrodes into

I suppose it is time for an update

Been meaning to this, and I've become the King of Pro-Crasty Nation. I kept wanting to report, but there was nothing to report, no good news at all, so I just... didn't. Sorry. Went a bit silent on my end. It just sorta happened.

I finally got a lawyer willing to take up my case. After that, things started happening.

For Fanofmostanything: Pony milk! · 6:59pm Aug 29th, 2014

As you can see, horse milk is actually better than cows milk.

Horse milk is thicker, creamier, and has a higher fat content than cows milk. It makes better butter than cows milk, as many Asian cultures will attest. It also ferments well, making a number of alcoholic milk drinks. Horse milk makes delightful cheese because of the sugar content. Horse milk is naturally yellow or slightly orange in colour because of the higher fat and sugar content.

So, Berry's milk is actually more like a regular pony's milk, and Lyra's milk in the story is actually more like skim milk from a cow.

They sell horse milk in Europe and a number of other places. It is actually quite expensive.

I have also drank horse milk. One of the many joys of living on an indian reservation. Really, it is quite delicious. To me, it tasted like drinking melted ice cream.

Dude, $1-2 is expensive? $3 if in Sweden.

So what flavor of melted ice cream does it taste like?

2411883

Last I read anything about the prices, it was considered gourmet vs regular cows milk, which is dirt cheap.

If something has changed, monkey sorry. :raritydespair:

2411890

I dunno, same sweetness and texture. Maybe vanilla?

Oh, right, I was thinking of something else. It's the low protein content that keeps horse milk from forming cheese. My bad. :derpytongue2:

2411911

But horse milk does make cheese.

The Mongols make cheese from mare's milk, and a very strong fermented drink as well.

You do realize that we are all discuting mare milk made cheese only due to kudzu story, right ?

I have a little personal story ´bout how The Chase is messing with my own mind but i´m still making my mind if i should tell it or not...a little too personal. :twilightblush:

Wow, I'm batting .000 here, aren't I? I guess you can't believe everything you read about horse milk on the Internet. :twilightsheepish:

The mongols let the milk curdle in the sun, using their urine to help it curdle.

The curdled milk is strained through a cloth and the clots of curdled milk are collected. They are compressed into bricks and then left to dry in the sun.

Sort of like paneer, which is cheese that is made from making milk curdle with a bit of lemon juice and then the curds are compressed into a blocks.

Oh, and before anybody starts barfing about the urine thing, I can guarentee that most of you consume piss every day.

The strawberry flavouring found in most candies and strawberry sodas comes from pig urine. It is listed as a natural flavouring in the ingredients, and can even be labeled as "organic" on the packaging.

Beaver urine is used to make vanilla flavouring.

Also, for the ladies, most of your cold creams, when it lists urea, that's URINE. Or those lovely facial masks that soften your skin. Most of it is piss.

2411968
I was just going to note how the pH interactions probably made up for the low levels of casein.

2411944 Damn you, really...

First, i swear for Celestia, it´s true, and sorry, it´ll be little wall of text, due to the need of context...

Well, here in Brasil we´re in the WORST drought season even registered in our history. 12%, 11%, even 10% relative humidity, that´s Sahara Desert levels of humidity...in the last two weeks my family could only sleep in the same room so we can share the humidifier, otherwise none can sleep at all. It is worse for me (asmha) and the kids, but my wife suffers too. Between cough and dripping nose, there is another effect: chapped lips.

Ok, there is something we called cocoa butter here, that looks like a lipstick, but it´s a powerfull moisturizer, and since it´s is butter, you can use on your lips, since you can actually eat it (not very good taste, but better then a common moisturizer). It protects the lips and avoid the chapped lips.

Well, after a week fighting due to some problems with money (always money, dammit) last monday I and my wife forgeve each other, after a good talk (yes, talk, no dirty thoughs here) and, then, we kissed, a love kiss. She just used the cocoa butter. And, im my mind, for a nanosecond, i thought:

"Well, this is how Bucky must fell when she kisses Derpy´s waxed pegasus lips."

...

:rainbowhuh::applecry::applejackconfused::pinkiegasp:

WHAT THE BUCk I JUST THOUGH WHILE KISSING MY WIFE !?!?

I froze and my wife noted and asked if it was everything ok. "Sure", i said, "no problem". Well, for a moment looked like you though about something...anything i should know.

"Believe me, you´re happier not knowing", i said...

Before she could ask anything else i went to the car to take kids to the school as fast as i could.

And, now, everytime we kiss, and she has coocoa butter on his lips, guess what ?

Yes....:derpytongue2::heart:

Now excuse me while i gonna kill myself in shame....

Bear in mind that, while fat and sugar may make milk taste better, the protein would be the most beneficial for appeasing first-world mentality. It's easy to find things that taste good which are high in fat or sugar content, but things with high protein tend to be more expensive. Or taste like crap. Or both.

As far as benchmarks, cow milk is close to the same in all three categories, meaning it's the best for average consumption. You would get far more fat and sugar out of horse milk than you would protein over a long period of time, leading to imbalanced dietary needs.

This is all speculation, of course; I have no idea why first-world countries would choose cow milk and make some kind of stigma against other types of milk. Based on the numbers you gave me, that's what I'm guessing.

Also, I didn't know I was drinking ash. :pinkiesick:

2411983

This is hilarious. :rainbowlaugh:

I died! :raritycry:

2412002

Cat milk. Hey, there are places where they sell cat milk for people to drink.

**shudder**

Here kitty kitty...

2412010
The only reason we find that strange is because our society raises us to think that anything other than cow milk is strange. :raritywink: Cat milk isn't gross, but it would be difficult to produce it in as large of quantities as humans drink--unless, of course, we were to start domesticating big cats. Plus, it's low in sugar, but very high in fat and protein, once again leading to an unbalanced dietary need. :derpytongue2:

Fun fact: Did you know that the human is the only (to my knowledge) known creature that can digest milk as an adult?

2411891 Mate, a normal pack of milk in Sweden is like, 20kr for 1 liter, in US that would be... just short of $4, but then again Scandinavia is really expensive.
We've packs ranging from 33cl to 3 liters.

So I've had dog milk, cow milk(duh), sheep, human, goat, yak, buffalo. But never had pony milk, it is now on my culinary bucket list.

What's the difference in calcium between the two? That and the protein are two things I'm interested in. Cow milk is definitely the winner in the protein department.

The reason I ask is because my medicine leaches calcium from my body. I drink about a gallon of cow milk every week, so I'm good on that.

Anyway, I'm just starting chapter 22, interesting story so far. Only a hundred and forty chapters left (rounding up) to catch up on. :pinkiecrazy:

Might want to take a second look at your chart, buddy. Cow's milk in most of those categories.

Which reservation do you live in? I don't live on a rez and i'm technically not even a full blooded Indian but I still know some tribes i'm descended from.

2414338

I don't live on a reservation now, but I spent some time living on several.

I am Lakota and Yakima. (Mostly)

I have two names and I find I really don't fit in either culture. :fluttershyouch:

2414345 My dad has travelled to a few reservations and has had many adventures with his indian buddies but he hasn't gotten a second name.. but he has done a sun dance. Although he did all this in his early 20s and now he's almost 50. I kinda want to go to some reservations too but it is very dangerous... :rainbowderp:

Well... Did not see that one coming...:rainbowderp:
