There ain't enough time to read!

Yeah... I think I follow too many stories, or that I just can't finish them all :rainbowlaugh:
What have I done to myself :P

Anyways, a short fic is in the editing stages. Expect it to be released by Christmas, because I'm a slow writer!

    Ohhh! New blog tagging system!

Hmm, it has come to my immediate attention that there is now a tagging system oh FiMFic!

I hope this just doesn't turn out to be like Tumblr....

But I do hope for a system that can give suggestions based on what people has already done for tags... Like Twitter, Blogger, and Tumblr :pinkiehappy:

I got featured... in a way

I haven't been on FIMFiction for long these days. I got a website to finish by May, homework to handle from school, a FPS game to make with my friends and a few more little projects to do. So I have been busy lately with all that.

Life, Story And Other Stuff BIG Update! · 2:54pm Aug 27th, 2014

One thing before I start this blog, I know it has been a longgggggg time since I had updated "Coma" and I am sorry for that. This is going to be a large blog post and it's going to be about my situation now and some news on the stories I'm planning now. hold on tight and enjoy the ride...

It's just that I have been without a house since early this year when some trouble with the landlords forced us to move out of my rented unit. Life has been complicated for me since then. It is also my first year in high school (In Australia, but more specifically, South Australia, high school starts in Year 8.) and with all this happening I could barely cope with everything that is happening around me. But I have got this show to keep me joyful at even the worst times.

This could start to get boring, you can skip to the story updates instead. I'll be explaining my current situation there.

One new fact about me: I only made 6 actual friends in my all 5 years spend in primary school (I arrived in Australia around 2008), which is kind of sad considering how lonely I was and a bit depressed at time. But last year, during my final years at primary school, I had to do a large PLP involving with our own topic of choice. I chose my topic to be: Animations and Anime. I wasn't the best at doing my work and always got distracted when I'm working on something at school or at home. But if it were not for my tendencies of getting distracted; I would have never found this show, I would have never start to make friends again, and I would have never start to be happy and cheerful again.

In a way, I kind of owe this show for making me a better person and it helped me to become who I can today. It all started around one year ago in the computer rooms my teacher had booked for the lesson, I was just sitting at the back of the room scrolling down a few of the Google tabs I had open. A few of the tabs had anime or it would be some random site on the internet about how people made animations and that kind of stuff with a few tabs about animations for girls or another one for boys.

I had just almost reached the bottom of the Wikipedia page entitled "Western Animation for Girls" (I think :\) when I saw a couple interesting links on a "weird type" of fandom called "Bronies" and that they are grown man or something. Since that I am a very curious person, I just couldn't stop myself to click on the link and check where that link had been referenced from on the page. It was under a section called "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic", my first reaction was immediate closure of Google Chrome, causing all my work to suddenly go "Not Responding". (Since back then our school desktops still used Window Vista, eww) After a few frantic minutes convincing the person next to me that I haven't broke that computer and a quick open of task manager and closing all my work only did it calmed down.

When I restored my chrome again did I start to read the news article and tried to force myself not to laugh out loud that would cause a couple of weird looks from my classmates. It talked about how these grown adult man watched a little girls show and they wrote a few things about it that wasn't quite nice and criticised quite badly, but I didn't care much about it to care. And then I moved on with my project.

After I was about 3 weeks into the project did I start to notice the frequent appearances of these "bronies" and their ponies on the internet and numerous sites about the topic, I had a nagging thought at the back of my mind since I saw the article then but had just dismissed it as just another unpleasant thought that I know I wouldn't want to know. It was about mid-July, about 6 weeks into the project, did I really start to get annoyed at my occasional urge to read some more about these "bronies" and what they do. It was around late-July did I really decide to downloaded the season of the show. Instead of downloading season one, I accidentally downloaded season two instead and also got curious when it also said that there was a movie that was just released last month(June) and also got that too. And then just left it on my computer, sitting on the desktop and forgotten...

(And just to let you know, I have TERRIBLE memory at certain things)

It didn't noticed it for a few weeks until about the second week of August when I noticed those two files again. And now the curiosity finally got the better of me and I watched my first ever episode on my uncle's laptop while I was over at my nana's place. Baby Cakes, the thirteenth episode in the second season of mlp: fim, was my first ever episode that I watched. For about a week before that, I kept on playing only the first 3 seconds and teasing myself on "Why would I watch such a thing" or "This show's for little girls, you shouldn't watch it". But then; I watched it, took some time to think about what I had just done and then continued on writing. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Season 02, Episode 13 | Baby Cakes

Then over the next two months, I had checked out more and more things about ponies and bronies for my project. In the end, I wrote around 32 pages with around 6,300 words including the footers and other sections. There were about 14 mentions of either bronies/ponies/pictures of any related, about 14 pages out of 32 had some form of ponies on it. There is even on whole page dedicated on just bronies, "Looking into fan groups - Bronies" has about 440 words with my funny way of typing (you might have noticed that by now).

And below would be the direct quote from my final draft and don't forget, I was kind of rushed when I wrote this. I also had not a lot of exposure to ponies to know some of the basic facts and stuff.

Looking into fan groups - Bronies

Animation

Brony - This is a very special name for a very special group of people, these people happens to be a group of teenagers and adults. Well, you may ask, “What wrong with adults that like animations” well this group of teenagers and a very big group of adult happens to like a Canadian/American animation series called’ My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’ which happens to be an animation series audience aimed at little girls. ‘Brony’ is a portmanteau of ‘Bro’ and Pony’.

Each year in America, there will be a very big event called: Bronycon. Thousands of people around the world go to Bronycon to socialize with other fan that come from around the world, also creating artwork, fan fiction, music, mashup videos, and other media. This year 8,407 people went to the Bronycon held at Baltimore Convention Centre (On August 2nd) and Hilton Baltimore Hotel (On August 3rd) and Baltimore Maryland (On August 4th). And also in the picture above......You can notice that it is mostly ALL adults and mostly male either, there was even a documentary made to (I think) honour these fans last year. With the show creator Lauren Faust and voice actor Tara Strong to help, they raised huge support on a crowd-funding site called ‘Kickstarter’ and it became the second most funded documentary project in the site’s history.

The documentary is called:
“Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony”
Here is an abstract from the official website of the documentary:
“One would be hard-pressed to find a cultural sensation as unique and as unexpected as Bronies. Why are these grown men and women attracted to a cartoon intended for little girls? And why are they willing to brave society’s ridicule for their love of the show?
Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony is a feature length documentary film that explores the cultural phenomenon of Bronies. The film chronicles Bronies from around the world, each with their unique story, as they make their way to My Little Pony conventions in Germany, England, and the biggest of all, BronyCon in the USA.
This documentary discovers that the essential story elements of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic – Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Loyalty and Magic – have a universality that extends beyond age and gender, and that Bronies are pushing the boundaries of what society deems appropriate in their quest for a kinder, gentler future.”
From “BronyDoc Film Official Site – Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony” http://www.bronydoc.com/

There was also an image that was from Wikipedia and it goes somewhere inside the page, check it out below.

(one other thing, how do you manage to shrink down your photos in a way so that you need to click on the plus button to maximise it. I still got to learn some FIMFic skills yet)

I think I told enough of what I have been through for the past year, and eventually got sidetracked and started talking about my project and how I found ponies. But now! To the stories update.

Coma Series

The Coma series was something I have thought of during a dream I had around the start of Season Four. I sort of envision it as a small piece of story that would go on for quite sometime, but I didn't actually expected it to be this hard to write stories. But now I started it, and would have to finish it. I still got the concepts/notes of the story I had wrote when I woke up, I also build upon that single idea and it sort of turned out to be a series and stuff. Over the course of the next few days, I wrote pages and pages of ideas, story points, characters and other stuff. But now, all I need to do is to put it on paper (Metaphorically speaking :)

And I am also happy to announce a new member onto the Coma Series train, Exswaggerwes has decided to help me with editing and pre-read some of the chapters I had already wrote and awaits editing and some proof reading.

Around the date of seventh of September, I'll be moving into the newly rented unit with my family. My younger brother, mum and me. I also might be getting broadband back soon, I have been house sitting since a week after Season Four finished and even before that, when we moved out of our previous house sometime in November or December. I have been using a mobile USB Modem (dongle. Wikipedia explanation here, but the look of mine is here. It is about 7cm or 2.75 inches long) since the first episode of the season, I have used this to watch every single episode LIVE (except ep1~4, 7, 8, 10). Oh, did I also mention that it's monthly data usage is 5GB and any extra usage is $0.10/MB.

But anyways, new chapters of Coma will be out by mid-September. If I'm lucky and not too distracted at the upcoming Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks movie releasing in 1 months time.

What I've been doing

If some you might notice that occasionally my favourites would spike up 10 or 20 more each time, that's because I'm busy reading how other people write their stories and I do occasionally stop coming on here for a few weeks at a time before coming back. Other than here, I have a couple of other sites where I hang out or blog.

I have a blog on Blogger that have been up since March this year, if you are a returning visitor, you might have remembered seeing a link to my blog on here a while back. I'll be putting in the all the links below. I also have a deviantART account that I occasionally post art on. For social sites accounts, I have: Twitter, Tumblr, Pintrest, Google+ and BronySquare. And miscellaneous sites: IntenseDebate, WordPress(nothing there just an empty blog), Wikipedia, SoundCloud, Bandcamp and a few more.

Also, just one day after the season finale. I decided to make a Wikipedia page for it just like previous seasons that other people have done. You can fine the page here, and to have proof that I created it, click here for the history of edits on that article.

I also have been making sites with my friends that is going to contribute to the kids at school and also help kids with homeworka, etc. This is also a gaming website.

That's about it for my VERY long blog update for just about almost everything! If there is any problem or you wan to be a pre-reader or editor, PM me and I'll get back to you ASAP. And finally! It took me about 5 hours typing this whole thing up and now I'm damn tired. This is about my third typing this, every time when my computer crashes it deletes all my work. But I'll be going now. Bye~

Okay, I'm curious now. You mentioned you "arrived" in Australia. Where are you from?
Also, WOW I had no idea you were that young. I can't wait to see more of your stories and music. Your ideas are great, but I noticed that your English is a bit odd. Do you speak other languages?
Also, I'll get to work on chapter 1 soon. I've just been busy with school lately.
I also kinda want to see those notes on your stories and the rest of that report on animation.
*just out of curiosity. You don't have to share if you don't want to.

I'm from Taiwan, a island off the coast of China. :twilightsheepish: (The Google Image Search, or Google Map Search)

A small map of Taiwan below, Australia is the land on the lower left side of the image.

operationworld.org/files/ow/maps/lginset/chnt-LMAP-md.png

I have half a note book full of ideas that I have either just thought of while I'm bored or something I imagined while I'm asleep. (I seem to have the most ideas when I'm dreaming :scootangel:) There are ideas from Nightmare Moon possessing ponies to a grand adventure around Equestria. I seem to grab inspiration from almost everything; I hear in the news, read in the books and watch on youtube.

I am a Taiwanese-Australian citizen. Which means that if either or both of your parents have to be an Australian citizen and that you're born in Taiwan, or vice versa. My situation just happens to be the first example. :rainbowlaugh:

I will hopefully writing all my notes on Coma into digital form and uploaded onto Google Drive soon and I will also upload the final draft of my PLP/project onto there as well. But for the notes on Coma... :twilightsheepish: My notebook has about 400 pages and is about A6 size with around 120 pages used. I think I wrote about 60~100 pages of notes just on my stories and their story cover art design.

At the beginning of the year, I had envision making my own 2014 calenders and in order to do so had to work on designs. Around 25 pages are just on getting the colours right with designs and notes. And the rest is just few notes about music making or other random stuff.

Here is the folder where I will put all my notes and files, just as soon as I finish writing them down. :twilightoops: It's going to take me awhile. But I will update it constantly. Do you have google? If you don't I can just give you the link, because I'm scared that people might temper with files when I give you the link. :raritydespair:

And for some reasons now, I seem to like to write long responses :facehoof:

2408410 long responses is perfectly okay with me. I like thorough answers. :yay:
I won't need that google link. With a volume of ideas that size, I would rather be patient and wait for them to come out on paper. :twilightblush:
However, with those ideas about Nightmare Moon possessing other people/ponies, I recommend reading the official My Little Pony comics. I think the first three are on iTunes for free. They cover a few popular ideas from the fandom because they're made by a couple of fans.
Anyway, I'm impressed that you've been a brony for such a short amount of time and already compiled so much work for it. You must be a natural at writing.
For me, ideas never come in my sleep. Either I never get enough, or I'm simply too worked up to remember my dreams. Most of my fanfiction ideas are for pokemon. I used to write about those all the time, but was always so judgmental of my work that I destroyed it instantly. I still remember how all of the stories went, but I would prefer to integrate them all into the larger story they belong to.
Anyway, thank you for the quick response!

2409993
I will be starting on the editing and read through of the chapter you sent me and I will also be doing my best to start the third and fourth chapter very soon.

I just need to read through my notes again :twilightoops:, because I haven't read them in a few months now and I forgot most of the ideas that I've wrote.

I didn't read the main series of the comic, but recently I have got the Friends Forever Issues #4 & 6. I would like to read the main ones though :pinkiehappy: The comic isn't free, it's just reduced to about $1.99 from it's usual $3. On this thread, at the very bottom of this, I found a link to a website where you can get the comics.

I always try to give a quick response when ever I can. It's just what I do

2413246 well darn. I guess it really was a sale. I had to bust my ass to read those on my computer too lol. I don't own a single iDevice and they restrict the crap out of everything. So I own it, but I had to take off the security to read it.
Also, who is best pony?

2413257
Well, I don't even have a phone! My friends find it all crazy that I don't have a phone and a stable internet connection. I only have 5gb of internet a month with a mobile USB modem, or dongle. Depending on what type of computer/OS you have, it can be quite easy to read some of the comics that is downloaded. I have a Windows 8 laptop with a program called "Comix" that can read almost every type of comic format out there.

For me, the best pony is... Princess Luna! :yay:

One other thing, how do you add those hidden features in a comment. I have been seeing some blog posts or comments where some certain bits are greyed out, but only when you place your mouse over it, does the words appear. How do you do that? :derpyderp1:

2413280 what a coincidence! SparkyBrony just asked me the same question in a private message lol.
[ spoiler ]text goes here[ /spoiler ]
just take out the spaces.

2413286
Thanks

Also, talking about coincidences. I always seem to be at the right place at the right times. Or that I sometimes would predict if something could be happening. :twilightsheepish:

And it looks like you can't hide emouticons :facehoof:

2413330 It only becomes more frequent with time. :raritywink:
being psychic is like that.

2413344
Also, I found a site where you can get the MLP main series comics. I'm just getting a few issues now. It can be found here.
