Aftermath news: Future Chapters, Third Story, and Chapter Contest · 11:42am Aug 17th, 2014
Greetings my fellow bronies from around the world. So I do have the next Aftermath chapter on the way, but there have been a few changes. I was going to do Night Light as the next chapter but I couldn't find myself to build anything around him. Velvet makes a more interesting character and I already have plans to do her later since her story will be key for the build up to the third story in the future (more on that later). Instead, I'm going to do Fancy Pants as my next chapter. I still have plans to do Shining Armor and then Pinkie Pie afterwards though. Those haven't changed.
So about this third story. Well, a few things to note about Aftermath itself. The first story in the series (The Assassination of Twilight Sparkle) talks about the event while it's still fresh in Celestia's mind aka the Assassination itself since the story only takes four months after Twilight's death. Aftermath of a Fallen Star is about the effects Twilight's death have caused in a short term like a few months or years for instance. The third story, which I have yet to title, is the long term effects. The main story takes place twenty five to thirty years after the Assassination and much has changed for Equestria. It will focus on Spike, who will be still trying to come to terms with Twilight's death, Twilight's Sister (If you remember from the first story Velvet was pregnant) who I have named Miracle Sparkle (Originally it was gonna be Majesty, but that was changed for a different reason), who is trying to overcome the shadow of her sister's legacy, and a changeling journalist who was raised Post-Chrysalis who uncovers a conspiracy that will bring the three connected.
I'm not gonna write it until all the Aftermath chapters are done and I have no more ideas for it.
Speaking about that, I've decided to give readers a chance to write their own chapter into the story and I will make it canon. I'm interested in seeing how you guys would try to incorporate an idea you think should be in Aftermath and see how it plays out. Rules for this are simple:
1. It must be well written. I can forgive grammar mistakes and such, cause those can be fixed, but I want a good story, good character development, and structured well.
2. Must be in First Person and Past Tense like the rest of the chapters.
3. It has to take place after Twilight is dead, but no more then five years later.
4. You cannot use the following characters as your center POV: Any Mane Six, Luna, Spike, Twilight Velvet, Sunset Shimmer, Shining Armor, Celestia, Twilight Sparkle, Twilight's Sister, and Fancy Pants or Fleur. You cannot also use characters that are already been used in previous chapters (such as Trixie, Discord, Cadance etc). Any other character is free game.
5. You are allowed to use OC's.
6. The chapter must reflect a chance due to the death of Twilight and it must be mentioned. Either politically, socially, or personally.
7. No more then 5,000 words and no less then 1000.
8. You must mail me the links to your chapter on Google Docs, I will not accept Word Docs.
9. You have 'till September 8th to submit. If I get no entries then I'll just end the contest. The story I find to be the best I'll work with the author in editing and proofreading before posting the chapter with credit given to them.
10. You are allowed to team up and co-work together for a chapter.

Wait, Gallant Heart? Hmmm... if you do him, which I will allow, let me know cause there is a few things you need to know about him. Especially since the Shining Armor chapter will be him and Gallant talking.
