Since it's starting to roll around (about a month left until you're allowed to start writing) and it's something of a hot topic in some groups I'm a part of, I figured I'd talk about Oneshotober, what it is, and my plans for it.
So, what is Oneshotober?
Oneshotober is a thing that some site peeps decide to do every October where they challenge themselves to write and publish a oneshot for every day of October. Most of the writing takes place during October, but you have about ten days before October 1st to write whatever you can in preparation. In addition to that buffer period, you have the entire month of October to write and publish whatever you can. It's not required that you publish one every day; rather, you just have to have published 31 oneshots during the month of October. You could release 2 every 2 days, or release all 31 on the first day (although the mods might not like that) and it'd still count as long as you published 31 of them during October.
I do plan on attempting Oneshotober this year. I'm starting working on ideas because there's about a month left before writing begins. I'm using this month to come up with all the ideas I can and plot them out so I'm ready to go when writing time comes around.
The official Oneshotober group can be found here, so check it out if you're interested in participating.
I might just attempt this...
