I've been writing and selling stories for longer than a lot of folks reading this have been alive. Check Baal Bunny for more!

Something That Might Actually Happen · 6:56pm Jul 25th, 2014

For a while:

I was considering being all grouchy about missing what would have been my 33rd consecutive year attending the San Diego Comic Con this week--I've been getting in free since the mid-1990s due to my various short story sales and such, but this year, I forgot all about their fancy new web-based system for distributing passes until a couple days after they'd given them all away. And to be completely honest, it's become such a massive crush of humanity down there, the only reason I've been going for the past decade or so is because they give me a free pass.

In the end, though, I decided against the whole grouchy thing. I've never been very good at it for one thing, and besides, I recently got an e-mail from the folks at Sofawolf Press saying they were putting Rat's Reputation, the sequel to my first novel, The Blood Jaguar, into their publishing pipeline for release at the annual Further Confusion convention in San Jose, CA this upcoming January. They wondered if I might be able to head up that way at about that time for a bit of hoopla, and I couldn't think of a reason why I shouldn't at least try to be there.

So if all goes well, just over a decade and a half after I was "guest of honor" at the first Further Confusion due to the original publication of Blood Jaguar, I'll be back there again for the premiere of Rat's Reputation. It's still months and months away, though, so I'll keep folks updated as the process grinds inexorably onward.

Awesome! FC's a backyard con for me and I make a point of attending every year. I'd love to get together while we're both there. :pinkiehappy:

Oh wow, Sofawolf is still around?

Definitely!

We've got six months to come up with a plan. :scootangel:

They seem to have:

Slowed down their publishing schedule a bit recently, but yeah. As far as talking animal fiction goes, they're still top-of-the-line.

I used to be heavily involved with the writing community of FurAffinity, and left about a year or two before finding pony. So I kind of forget that those people persist without my observation. :B

All this Ponificating:

Is about the heaviest I've ever been involved in any sort of community, but I've been hanging around the edges of furry fandom since the late 1980s. So I'm pretty used to things going on without me noticing... :scootangel:

Ah. Yes. :twilightblush:

A guy who used to come into the library where I work told me he'd set it up for me a couple years ago. I stop by it once every few months to see if it's been deleted yet, and so far it hasn't been. :pinkiegasp:

2317871 The thing is I always thought you were just bullshitting in your bio, some people do, but cool. Recognized author, who made one of my favourite fan fiction series, and who might be in my group, cool.

The internet:

Can indeed be a deceitful place. But I'm sure ev'ryone here on FimFiction is as honest as the day is long! :pinkiecrazy:
