Great. I feel like Russell T. Davies. Or George Lucas. Or something else...

Anyway. Maybe I should continue Hands. I mean, really... That kind of ending tugs on the heart strings but it's about as smart as... Well I made some references so I don't need to here.

I think I may just keep it on hiatus for a while.

Whatever you feel comfortable with.

yeah that's probably a good idea it was a good story (is a good story).

It truly is your call on this matter. I agree with most everybody that it came out of nowhere and leaves out an entire arc.

If you're done with the story in general than by all means leave it as is and chalk it up as Andrew having not finished his story or something. I'll support the author of a worth while story.

It was comparatively lackluster.

>Well guys, I think this is it. It was a good ending, a good run, and I want to move onto newer pastures.
>300 comments of how it was good, but came so far out of left field, that it snapped the necks of many a reader.
>Well okay, maybe I should reconsider.
Dude, Talon, I love you, but I would be lying if my first reaction to this was me laughing my ass off.

Honestly I felt that the ending came out of nowhere and kicked me in the balls. But in the end
you decide, I wont lie though I would love it if you continue with it.

To be honest, the final chapter didn't really fit in with the rest of the story. I mean primarily, we've seen comedy and the ridiculous situations Andrew keeps getting thrust into, then all of a sudden, bam, completely serious deathbed post. Hands is one of those stories that could happily stay 'on hiatus' forever, and you just write something once in a while when you feel like it. (Be it days or even years later)
That said if you really want to end it, a more thematically consistent ending might be in order.

While it did come out of flipping nowhere, do whatever you feel is best.

Oh man. Your embarasment is delicious.XD.

You could go for the full thing and go for a reboot.

It's up to you. If you're satisfied with this ending, keep it. If not, change it.

You have to rewrite it with modern effects. It's the only way. :rainbowdetermined2:

This sums up my feelings completley. To me the last chapter completely broke the pacing of the story

Remember Han... I mean Andrew shot first.

While there is nothing wrong with the ending itself the transition from the previous chapter to this one is like going to a Wierd Al concert only to be attacked Zerg rush style by Justin Beiber fangirls and then wake only to see this.

:twilightoops:
It's lovely but IT MAKES NO SENSE!:flutterrage:
:ajbemused::twilightsheepish::facehoof:

I'm glad you came to your senses.
Another example of "like whom" would be Ben Bova, the author of a singularly unfulfilling novel called Mars Life.

For this series, nothing short of destroying an entire universe would be appropriate. I suggest you target the 'Friendship is Believing' universe.

I have to admit... I would consider retconning the ending. It seemed... forced for the sake having an ending, and if you feel like you have to do that, I'd rather it not have an ending at all.

Whatever you feel is best, Andrew

Honestly, after so many chapters and story arcs full of quirky comedy and absurd action, to have a somber deathbed scene played completely straight... it was more than a little jarring. And while I can trust anything written by you to be written well, it was just so much of an emotional neck-snap that I frankly would rather have just had the story fade peacefully into the night than have this chapter tacked on the end. It felt like it was made JUST so that the story could be brought to a conclusion, which, honestly, I don't feel is necessary. If it's a choice between just not having an ending and this, I'd prefer no ending.

Furthermore, if you really felt it had to have an ending so you could move onto greener pastures, I don't see why you went with this specific way to close it out. This story was honestly far more deserving of just leaving it on an "...and they lived happily ever after" note. Cliche, perhaps, but it would fit more with the mood and theme of the story, (overcoming great obstacles, quirky romantic comedy, and explosions) than a tragic deathbed scene (more fitting in a more somber, grounded, and ponderous story).

You're referring yourself to George Lucas? You're being too hard on yourself. :fluttercry:
No need to rush on making a decision.
Just keep it on the back burner of your mind as the kitchen starts to smell like bacon.....

I saw some guys in the Spacebattles forum suggest Discord induced reincarnation. Maybe try that as a last chapter and continue in a sequel? Just don't make him a pony. That's far too cliche.

If you're going to continue Hands, I think it should be at a significant time skip. You just showed us the end, so show us the middle.

Call the ending a daydream and resume his story?:trollestia:
Have him complain to the other that it was heavier than taco Tuesday?:rainbowlaugh:
Discord trolling us readers?:twilightangry2:
Lot's of options but what seems appropriate?:applejackunsure:

thats the great thing about spinoffs! XD

I enjoyed Hands. It is a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the way you mocked the self insert HiE story. That you managed to carry it for so long is a credit to you.

I'd happily read any more chapters that you could come up with. But for a story to work, a writer has got to want to write it. If you feel the need to move on to other projects, let the ending stand.

Whatever you decide, good luck. Have a follow.

Honestly the only thing I feel was maybe missing is an epilogue on Chrysalis and the Changeling.

And maybe what Andrew's house ended up looking like?

Covering those two would be enough for me.

I'm okay either way.

However you want it man. I myself am happy that there is a possibility that this great story continues.

Dragon:moustache:

I think Hands may be one of those stories that is never meant to end fully. See what happens.

i feel better with a hiatus than an ending

I didn't mind the way the ending was written, so maybe keep it filed away somewhere if you decide to continue the story.

Indeed, I thought it's going to end there but I'm glad the author is not dead. Just a plain hiatus.
I'm sure he can write anytime. Have a good one, Andrew! :raritywink:

"back to one-shot chapters"
I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like an ending. Am I missing something?
