So, it's been two weeks since I uploaded a story chapter.
Rightly, or wrongly, this is the kind of thing that drives me nuts, when I can't keep up with an update schedule. But, its been kind of a rough situation for me, at least in terms of my head-space, the last week.
For those of my readers who aren't in the know, I am a big gaming geek. Always have been. And I have a group that I started playing with up here in Pennsylvania, that later moved to West Virginia. Since then, I take a trip down to visit once a month, for a weekend of glorious D&D action. Except that this last weekend, everything kind of turned sour.
I won't go into all of the details, but the amount of arrogance and condensation that flowed from my one friend, as he is want to do at times, hit a level that I just couldn't take anymore. I had to leave before I completely lost my temper and said something that I'd regret. And on the drive home, as I past the lovely Creationist billboard just inside the PA border, I realized that a friend of mine for ten years shows less respect for my creative ideas and the enjoyment I get from creative things, than over a hundred and twenty strangers who like my scribblings about ponies.
And so, with all of these thoughts kicking around my head, I realized that the things that keep me in Western PA...well, the list has suddenly become much less compelling. I'm unemployed and can't seem to find work around here, I'm not happy most of the time. And thusly, I'm beginning to make plans to get the hell out of here and move someplace else. Just everything is kind of chaotic right now.
Anyway, this is a round about way of saying that my update schedule is going to be a little chaotic while I sort out my life situation right now. Things are still being written though. I've not totally flaked out.
Aside from finishing up Boast Bypassed, here's what's in the works right now.
Past Remnants
My next fic for RDD's Lunaverse. We delve into the relationship between Luna and Corona, and Lyra and Bon Bon as the four ponies travel to an ancient hidden city full of primitive mammals, and the ghost of a civilization long dead. I'm about four chapters done on this one already, so once I start uploading I'll be able to do so with a bit of a buffer.
Of Apples
This one is a bit a departure from my usual stuff, as it's not tied to my universe or the Lunaverse. I don't wanna give away too much on it, as I'm just closing in on the end of the first chapter, but it does involve the Apple Family and the relationship between sisters. Though perhaps not in the way one would expect.
Springtime for Sombra
The next Skitchverse fic, this one is mostly in the planning stages right now. The story revolves around Skitch taking a one off job in Manehatten to help with some set design/construction for a play production there. However, things aren't exactly how they seem, and the unicorn finds herself dragged into a screwed production. Can she help turn things around in time?
Thanks again for listening to my rant though. The fact that all of my followers still get enjoyment from my writing helps keep me going when everything is feeling down like this.

No offense intended here, sir, but the words you meant to use regarding your 'friend' are condescension and wont rather than condensation and want.
Condescension is a form of speech or bearing where a person feels they are inherently better than another. The Great and Powerful Trixie is condescending towards her audience in Boast Busters. Condensation is part of the natural water cycle.
Wont is an old word with the general meaning of 'indicating a tendency towards an action or manner of thought' and is generally only seen in the phrase 'As (he/she/it/they) is/are wont to do.' Which only ever comes after describing a condition or behavior. Using want instead of wont in this instance implies that your friend does this deliberately and takes pleasure in it rather than it just being something he seems to do without thinking.
Not trying to be condescending here, I'm just a bit of a Grammar Nazi.

A more effective way to do this would have been to just not say anything, for while this is the place for this sort of thing, it is hardly the time.
2283223 Correcting a suicide note is something that would be 'hardly the time' while this is nowhere close to that kind of situation. Sure, it sucks that one of his acquaintances is undeserving of the title Friend, but its not like he decided its time to /wrists.

I am not able to rightly comprehend how our conversation turned down this particular path. Or how quickly it turned down it, for that matter.
Aye, that's kind of how it is with me. I've cut off several "friends" recently, when I finally opened my eyes and realized that they simply weren't really friends at all. I've got Robert, and I've got Taran, and a few others, but that's it. I can count my friends on two hands, at least.
And yet, I've got 376 people who show more respect for my vast imagination than any of my so-called "friends" did. So hey, they want more pony words, I plan to give them more pony words. And I'll take great pleasure in giving them something worth reading.
