Regarding The Slumber Party · 8:57am Jul 7th, 2014
A few of you have complained about it being too short.
So if you have any ideas how I can extend it, then by all means share them with me and I'll see what I can do.
(Sorry for the short blog post — I had a bus to catch.)
Maybe add in a flashback scene showing how he first started crushing on Cheerilee. Or possibly extend Button Mash's arrival at the sleepover by having him play up more on the way there. It'd be pretty funny if he arrived with his mum carrying him and having to pretty much drag him there, then have him try to act all nonchalant.
That would be pretty awesome. However, I really like the way the reader is misled into thinking it's just another Sweetiemash story, that was a nice little twist. Adding him crushing on his teacher before would ruin that nice little surprise.
Maybe have the Crusaders wake up, or unable to fall asleep because of what Button said, and have him answer questions asked by the Crusaders. (Such as when it started? or more specifics about what he stated earlier.) Or maybe prolong the game of 'Truth or Dare' a bit (and maybe show a bit of how much Sweetie is crushing on him in the process ). Also, maybe add a bit about how he tries to get Cheerilee to like him (or maybe try to get rid of Big Mac as competition, all ending in hilarious failures. With or without Crusader assistance.)
I mean really there are tons of ways to be able to extend the already wonderful story. Hope this helped.
Maybe after the contest, you could add a scene in the middle of the night where Button is awake, and only two crusaders are sleeping. One is half asleep. Then Button gets it out of his system that he lied and apologizes thinking no-one would hear him admit who he really likes, putting the ship back on track! And the one half asleep would be AB, preparing to ask if they can play truth or dare in the morning.
2264192 I'm sorry, but ButtonBelle is my OTP. If I see a potential ButtonBelle, I try my hardest to make it happen.
A scene set at the next day of school with some awkwardness ensuing might be cool.
I think it is fine the way it is.
