Just a thought and maybe a rant · 10:30pm Jul 2nd, 2014
I don't really know why I'm doing this, but I feel like I need to spill what's on my mind.
The internet's become such a harsh and mean place that you can't find something you like without about a million people hating it. I love it that others have different opinions, but when you call others "retarded" because they decide to like a certain youtuber, hobby or, oh, I don't know, ponies, then it should really make you kind of consider things. Does it actually matter what you like? Can we just get along with what we enjoy? I'm not going to lie, I like Pewdiepie, like a lot of the internet, but I'm not devoted to him or a jerk to others because of that, and I understand how dumb and obnoxious he can be. (Let's face it, about 70% of the internet is dumb and obnoxious.) That doesn't stop me from laughing at Jaltoid's videos, or watching other youtubers. (And if you are hating a person over the internet, you've probably never met them in real life, you've seen an animation they've done or a gameplay. What would they be like face to face?) I like it that people have different opinions, and I respect them even more for not having the same opinions as me, but when you're a jerk about it, it doesn't make you a better person. Also, don't hate them if they don't like someone you do. Just don't. I guess this was kind of pointless, but I felt like I needed to post something. Plus, I couldn't deal with all of the pent up thoughts any more.
Hm. I really wonder the same thing. As a brony once commented about a cutie mark: "Before you ask about this, ask yourself: is it really hurting anyone?" -SunsetShimmer
