I submitted a story to EQD. I wasn't expecting to get it posted, but I was expecting some kind of feed back on what I needed to do better. Instead all I got was this little copy and pasted message.

Due to the high volume of stories we receive on a daily basis, we cannot give specific feedback. Our Editor’s Omnibus contains a thorough list of the issues we look for in our reviews, and also contains resources for finding proofreaders and editors. Give it a look, as it will go a long way toward improving your writing!

And a link to the Editor's Omnibus. I know they change their policy on story submissions and other things, but a rejection letter like this just doesn't show me where I suck as a writer. I want to be a better writer. I do, but when I don't even get feedback, I can't really improve. I might as well just say the whole story sucks and just rewrite it from the ground up and hope that I fix whatever I did wrong.
Having a story on EQD has been a dream of mine since the time I started writing here, but with the way things are looking now. I feel like I'm wasting my time trying to send them anything. I feel like I have a better chance of getting feedback from groups on here that do the same thing as EQD. If I remember, The Royal Guard group has pre-readers who will write you a message in detail about what you can do to improve your story. So I will applauded them for their work.
I'm sorry for wasting your time. Just needed someplace to vent. I will tag the story that I submitted to them.
