Two Years and Nothing to Show for It · 4:15am Jul 1st, 2014
Whelp, on this night I am currently doing what I was doing two long years ago, reading pony fanfiction long into the night. The only difference is that when I sat down two years ago on the eve of my birthday to read I was doing it for the first time. I've come a long way since then, as a person and as a reader, maybe as a writer too if you look at it in the right way. But, it all comes down to the fact that I've spent two years of my life doing something. That is a new experience for me, no fandom before has ever lasted two years so continuously for me, sure there was Runescape back before Jagex ruined it, as well as gaming and reading in general. But ponies have never once even had a thought of wavering, which is certainly unique. Although that could mostly stem from the fact that 10 minutes ago it turned over into the day I was born, a mere 18 years ago, not a whole lot of time to develop long-term attachments to anything.
So... the yearly checklist stands as everyone does for whatever reason:
Words Read: approx. 16 million words (calculated with average word count of a story on fimfic * favorite count)
Following 188 authors, I'm horribly behind on reading so it feels weird to claim that.
Published Horse Words: 6,024... not much to say about that.
Followers... 12 somehow.
Total time spent reading: probably too much, but it is and forever will be always worth it.
For the record, Thanks to everyone whose story I've ever read the good and the bad, as well as all the wonderful people I've gotten to talk to these past two years.
