Grey Guard Pony passed away on 12/7/2018.

Sorry, I'm Zalabar; a friend who was asked to spread the word. Somehow I didn't think of posting here. Instead it was... well, direct message to the few we both knew. Phyco put up a blog on it back in December; https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/838448/dust-in-the-wind

It was the cancer, and GGP passed in their sleep.

    New Rainsverse Fic!

Just giving my followers who enjoy the Rainsverse a heads up. The next fic in that AU has passed the que and is now available to start reading.

In this one, we begin to delve into the fallout of Chroma's attack on The Heartlands and the fate of the Everfree Rangers in particular. If you're interested in seeing what happens next, go give it a look!

    Writing Lessons: Blood and Ponies

    ...This fic exhausted me.

If there is one over-arching lesson I learned from this little crossover is that having a plan for your story, even if you end up deviating from it, is important. It gives you at least a loose guide that you can follow and for someone with ADD having something that can help keep you on focused and on track ends up being really important.

    Weird Stores

I had a medical appointment today and saw two of the weirdest stores I ever have on the way to and from the appointment.

On the way out I passed Valhalla: Indoor Axe Throwing.

On the way back I passed Break Room: Therapeutic Demolition.

It is now a goal in my life to visit both of these stores out of sheer, morbid curiosity.

Apparently, this website has become kind of a thing among creative types as of late, allowing people to pledge amounts of money towards goals in a smaller amount than something like Kickstarter or what have you. And it seems that some members of the Brony fandom have been using it as of late as well.

So far, I've been paying for the cover art on my fics out of my own pocket, so the thought occurred to me that might be able to use Patreon to kind of offset some of my costs. After all, if each of my followers chipped in just 1$, then that'd be 121$ I could put towards artwork in my fics, even including some interior art of various scenes.

So, here's the Patreon page. GreyGuard's Patreon

This is also very much kind of an experiment and work in progress for me. It might work, it might not, but we're gonna make a go of it anyway. And ss you can see, there's no rewards for donation levels yet, as I'm not entirely sure what I can offer. Any suggestions there or support would be much appreciated!

I'm not sure "reward" is the right way to look at it. The facts are these.

There are the facts:
We enjoy reading your work. Some of us (i.e. me) even enjoy contributing ourselves. As such, a single dollar donation per month through Patreon accomplishes the following things that do nothing but things that we want anyway.

By investing in this way, we actually improve the quality of the stories thus presented, not only by adding cover art, but perhaps character art as well; our dramatis personæ are quite dramatic as it is, but who wouldn't want them to have a little more personæ?

Furthermore, the Skitchverse is a shared universe. I don't doubt there are a great many of its fans who would love to contribute, but are reluctant for this or that reason to do so. Perhaps they are uncertain of their writing abilities; I don't know. But an investment is a very simple, largely risk-free way to contribute and share the universe.

Finally, donations equal capital. The more capital you have, the less concerned you feel about certain other aspects of life. What this means for us is that, if you are able to obtain sufficient capital from donations, it actually frees more of your time to write. More free time to write and less anxiety means we get to enjoy more chapters faster.

And why wouldn't we want that?
