She's looking at you. Yes you. And she is judging you with her eyes. There is no escape.

    It's late

But my brain isn't quiet. I'm stoned out of my goddamn gourd. Don't worry, it is just my usual regimen of drugs. That's how I spent a lot of my time now. Wasted. Doesn't really help with the pain much, but makes it a bit more tolerable. All of my drugs cost over 5 grand a month. That's what it takes to keep me going. I'm in somewhat better shape because of all of it, and there's a few bright

    Cyborgification is potentially a-go

Finally found a doctor that didn't run screaming upon seeing my spine images and xrays. The team is coming together. Met with the neurosurgeon the other day, and he thinks I am an ideal candidate for augmentation. The transition is happening, I think. I still have to pass a psych evaluation and other steps, but I am closer now than ever. First I'll have the trial run; they'll sink electrodes into

I suppose it is time for an update

Been meaning to this, and I've become the King of Pro-Crasty Nation. I kept wanting to report, but there was nothing to report, no good news at all, so I just... didn't. Sorry. Went a bit silent on my end. It just sorta happened.

I finally got a lawyer willing to take up my case. After that, things started happening.

So, the Isles Introduction Arc is now over · 7:49pm Jun 19th, 2014

And we begin the Recovery Arc.

More than just Bucky's recovery mind you. The Isles need to recover.

So I am curious about how folks feel about the current ending arc as a whole, going way back to the train station. It was a big arc. It was a big friggin arc already. And more is coming. Recovery is going to be a long arc.

Yes, the Isles are a horrible place. An awful place. I tried to warn you. But now, we began an upswing.

A few things of note. You will not hear much about mainland Equestria. This is to increase the feeling of isolation. You are just as cut off as Bucky and his herd are. Cadance's pegasi are coming. They will not be staying, but they will bring news. All of it bad. Sorry about that, but that is how it is.

We are going to be seeing a very different Bucky soon. We've seen maternal Derpy... Are we ready for paternal Bucky? I hope so.

So, questions, thoughts, feedback on the now finished mini-arc? Curious about glimpses into the future? Uncertain about something? Here is your chance. I might answer the right questions.

Hmmm... Well, I've enjoyed the beginning arc for the most part. There's been a few bits here and there that have tore at me, but that's what I expect from good writing. Something that draws me in and makes me feel.

That said, I'm interested to see how things go, but more to the point I'm waiting to see something else. Every story that deals with immense magic and its use almost always has the moment when the user sees both sides of their spirit.

The see the purity, good, and noble side and at the same time they also see the dark and twisted side. I'm waiting for Bucky to see both sides. I know he understands that he has them, but to actually see them. To see the two sides of yourself locked in constant struggle...

It would be an amazing sight.

what do i think? :derpyderp2: EPIC DERPY in the end kicking the shit out of Keg... thats the way to do it girl :derpytongue2::heart:

will derpy being preggers be a major theme in this arc?

2219738
no... if derpy pregger she can't kick ass

2219744 she is though, or berry. i cant remember which one of them was mentioned to be having life growing in them

2219780 so is it going to be a major thing in this arc or is it going to be saved for the next?

I feel like you need to do something with the tags on this. I don't know why FimFiction doesn't allow you to tag things as needed:facehoof:

My recommendation is splitting the arcs apart from each other and put them into sequels. For example, the tags you are using are perfect for the first arc of the story until Berry declares war-

Then your sequel should be made with everything past that up to Chapter 71- and give it the tags [Dark], [Sad], [Adventure], [Romance], [Alternate Universe]. You might as well rate it Teen for gore with the directions you've gone.

For your next arc, make it into another sequel with another more appropriate set of tags, like [Romance], [Slice of life], [Comedy], [Alt U], [Random] again.

I feel like I'm nagging. I'll just shut up, now.

2219707 I agree with your statement and I truly believe that he will soon start to prod and poke at the darker side of his personality when he starts the tests with shadow essence, there is just too much possibility there to go to waste from where I'm looking. I also truly believe that this Arc was a very positive thing for the family as a whole. It allowed all of them to see each other react to situations that they almost never would have been in on the main land of Equestria while under Celestia's rule, sorry if there are misspellings, due to her and her sister's constant vigil over there own lands, which allowed a massive amount of character growth in a short amount of time. As for the upswing that is coming, I think that will involve a good amount of beer brewing and possibly Bucky working up the courage to try to follow what Sombra ended up doing, replacing his horn with something that won't char and spark under the strain of his new magical power.

Loving the shift of tone/genre with each arc. I can't wait to see where you take us once we leave the isle. Im ready to see if we'll see any urge from Bucky to revisit his past once he returns. Is there any part of his pre-Ponyville life he misses?

you asked if we had questions about the future, will any of this bad news the pegasi bring involve friends of the family being killed? (if it involves barley don't tell me, i like being surprised by him)

We are not leaving the isle. We are just settling in. That was the introduction to the isles.

First off I enjoyed this arc, as I've stated on another post generally I'm a bit jaded to gore and violence. Yet this was nearly got to me, so it was, to me, an acceptable level.
Secondly, I can't help but feel that general views of the common folk are being ignored... maybe it's just a reflection of the family being far more concerned with its own affairs, maybe it's their nature to ignore the manticore until it's traipsing through town. But whatever the reason I find myself wanting to give voice to them.
Here's a quote from a post I did recently,

Well all I can really say is show me the strength of your resolve herd Bucky, if your gonna come in here and judge the way things are done here, show us your better than those Canterlot thieves. They That come here, judge us to be unfit parents and taking our foals. Show us your better than those bastards who abandoned us to these Celestia forsaken Isles in the first place. If the ideals of family are worth more than two shits, could you leave us, we who are your kin, if not by blood than at least marriage. I know you will do right by us, and take solace that it's only darkest before the dawn.

As an islander who is set in tradition and ruled by fear, for an outsider to come and walk around all superior as shit, looking down on us and trying change things. I would fear these people, far worse than the Canterlot bastards. They want to change our lives make us better people, but that's what they said, and in the end they went home. By Keg trapping them here, and their option to leave gone that family is going to rule us all. It will be as Canterlot was here among us. What's worse is they can't understand why we do things, it wasn't as if that stallion was being unduly cruel. The farmer was a shit who liked being rough with his mares, but he takes care of um. The food he would a gotten would a been good for the whole herd and they might have been able to pull themselves from there troubles. Ya can always make more foals, but not if your mares are starvin. Now he's gonna be laid up fer a week, his herd still starving, with nought but grass to eat. There are many of us in similar situations. Our new hope might just be the death of us all.

The sociological implications are intentional.

As I stated in the first major arc of The Chase, Cadance is coming. She took a hundred thousand words to show up last time.

Well, her pegasi convoy is coming.

And then, things will change in a major way.
