Hmm, my prediction is that this is going to take place in the Mane-verse that the L6 visited and battled Antithesis in. It'll be that Mane-verse Trixie trying to do... stuff, involving an Ursa. That be my theory.

I'm assuming it's a combo of Boast Busted and Magic Duel with Twi actually accepting Trixie's challenge and Trixie delivering.

Possibly, though the compression to Marvel's Ultimate continuity makes me think it will be more like "reboot" of Boast Busted, or perhaps better referred to as a sort of what if in regards to had he written it at a different time, under diferent circumstances and expectaions.
I'd assume that Spike presence in the cover there isn't because this is the Mane-verse, but rather because in early drafts of Boast Busted he was going to be Twilight's traveling companion. Likewise, we might see the return of other scraped draft ideas such as Roseluck being one of the two earth ponies in Trixie's circle of friends. Speaking of the L6, I might also expect to see some things that didn't make it into the Lunaverse because they didn't exist yet. For example the only reason we have Raindrops is because there was a lack of background pegasi prior to Hurricane Fluttershy, whereas RDD has said had he written the fic after that episode he would have used either Flitter or Cloudchaser instead.
But how will the Ursa get into the socks?

Shame. Much as Raindrops is probably my favorate character, I'd have been interested to see what you'd do with Cloudchaser/Flitter in her stead. Also to be fair, while Peter was still Spiderman, some of the other staple characters of his supporting cast and rogues gallery got juggled around or out right reinvented/replaced.
