Microsoft E3 2014 · 6:48pm Jun 9th, 2014
I don't own an Xbox One nor do I plan on ever owning one. Still, that doesn't mean I can't look at the exclusives that are coming to it.
One thing that I was really happy about was that for the first time, in what I think is three years, Microsoft only showed games. No Hardware, no apps, no tablet functionality, nothing of that sort. We got a conference that was completely devoted to games. Let me list a few things that stood out to me from Microsoft's conference.
1. The Complete Master Chief Collection.
I thought this was really neat. I've never owned an xbox long enough for me to get into a Halo game but when my friends would come over they usually brought their xbox's and Halo too. I've always liked Halo although the Halo 1 will forever be my favorite( I bought it when it was ported to PC). To have all of Master Chief's games on one disk is perhaps one of the greatest things that Microsoft could have ever done.
2. Dead Rising 3's DLC.
I never got into the Dead Rising series, just seemed too, I don't know, goofy to me. When it was announced last year that DR3 would be an Xbox One Exclusive I didn't really care. I did have friends however who were upset that they wouldn't be able to play it on PS3/PS4. Say what you will about Capcom but you got to admit, they're not afraid of poking fun at themselves. With DLC titled Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX Alpha it's pretty clear that Capcom knows exactly how they're seen in the eyes of anybody who ever bought vanilla Street Fighter 4.
3. COD.
I'm just going to keep this one short. I noticed the scenery and the background in a COD game before I noticed the gun. The game looks good and might actually get me back into the series.
4. Ori and the Blind Forest.
If there was any reason for me to get an Xbox One it would be this game. The visuals are fantastic and the set up seems fantastic. It actually invoked an emotion out of me. The best part of the whole trailer was the music. JUST LISTEN TO IT! DO IT! DO IT NOW!
Ori and the Blind Forest was my favorite part of Microsoft's conference. You know I'm going to be looking for that OST when the game does come out.
