    I'm (still) not quite dead...

I'm sorry, I am so very sorry for the lack of updates on, well, anything. A few of you have probably noticed that I've still been putting in the occasional appearance or comment, but as for chapter updates...yeah I've barely written anything for months for various reasons - work sucks, arranging a couple vacations, a falling out in my D&D group of 14 years, and just a sort of malaise that

    When you're writing a chapter...

And listening to music to keep yourself in the mood, and then you hear a song that has you suddenly realize that you've been writing the entire chapter wrong and should have instead been basing it around the song - not necessarily using the song directly (especially since that would be against site rules concerning wholesale copying of lyrics), but certainly drawing on it for inspiration.

The Good News and the Bad News

The good news is that I got a root canal on Monday. No more pain in teeth. Yay!

The bad news is that I was 3/4ths of the way through the next chapter of Midnight Castle (~5000 words) and realized that I was writing it totally wrong. I need to go back to practically the start and change up a lot, though I'm salvaging lines and paragraphs wherever I can.

WISDOM TEETH.

Specifically, my upper-left one. It is a sinister tooth.

GET IT? IT'S A LATIN PUN. I can make those right now 'cause I'm in a lot of pain; I don't care if none of you get it.

And it hurts bad enough that I can't concentrate enough to write anything other than Latin puns and bitchy blog posts.

Ohhhh those suck absolute...round objects...yea..lmfao but yea that's bad, they took all of mine from me last year...that was not too too bad though.

Wisdom teeth are an eternal testament to how much God hates us and wants to see us suffer.

Yes those do suck. A quick tip, if you have the tooth removed. Wrap your pillow in plastic or at least put on a cover you don't mind destroying. This is because after the tooth is removed you will drool in your sleep and it will be bloody drool. Trust me, blood is difficult to remove from fabrics.

I had a full set of Wisdom teeth. Two of them were coming in strait, but without enough room, so the dentist pulled my the respective back two molars to make way, which was fine and easy. The other two were more problematic though, and so had to be cut out, which is the third most painful thing that has ever happened to my mouth.

Debatable. Wisdom teeth actually used to serve a practical purpose in that before modern dental care existed they were the replacements for teeth that would have been lost by that point in a person's life. They cause suffering now, but once upon a time lessened it instead.

Not that bad. I am having mine fixed/pulled out (not 100% on that jet) on 19th, because its starting to crumble. I ain't even feeling it much. The swelling ,and cheek biting sucks tho. But still I eat some ice cream, some caramel candy, and feel fine.
Only problem is the dental fillings slowly crumbling, and leaving small pieces of them in my food.

EXTERMINATE!!! them.

Why do you hate wisdom teeth?

*shoves fists in mouth* No needles getting in here!!! If I have to get my wisdom teeth out when I'm older, I'm going to die.

All my bedsheets are red, thankfully, so blood doesn't show up all that much (I got them because I used to get these random nosebleeds at night when I was younger).

Because they cause me pain and misery and if it's possible to OD on ibuprofen to combat those, then it'll probably happen.

I actually had the luck to be 'gifted' with no less than five wisdom teeth, so you can probably imagine why I got rid of them at sixteen.

My apparently huge mouth had plenty of room for all of my wisdom teeth, so I've only had one taken out that I lost to a cavity. Based on that experience, they can pry the other three out of my skull when I'm dead.

According to my dentist, my mouth is big enough. In my opinion, it sure doesn't feel that way. :pinkiesick:

Good luck. I've been really lucky myself with none so far. A friend had like 3 or 4 though.

I'm a big-mouthed guy married to a small-mouthed wife, and *all* of our children have needed to have their full wisdom teeth out, and some of them 4 others too. It really depends on the oral surgeon you use, because #2 son is the worst with pain, and he went through the 8 tooth removal process almost without a complaint. (and his teeth post-braces and retainer look *so* much better)

2187419 It *is* Possible to OD on ibuprofen: if you take more than the dose listed on the bottle you can irreparably damage your kidneys. Not. Fun.

Got a couple still growing out, though they're straight enough that I don't need to have them pulled. Yet. Still ache from time to time, though, and they have yet to provide a tangible wisdom bonus.

Also, ibuprofen can cause liver and kidney damage (specifically, bleeding). My doctor recommends paracetamol. (Though please don't take my word for it in your case. Ask your own doctor.)

Know the feeling, my dentist recently told me there's a risk of my wisdoom teeth betraying me in the future.

2187185 I get it. I also totally empathize. The first wisdom teeth I had pulled had gotten SO bad I had to go the ER and go some goddamn elephant strength painkiller just so I could sleep until the removal! I had the other three pulled at a later day, this time with some good anasthesis so I didn't feel a thing.

As someone who needed all four taken out at once, yeah. They SUCK!

Had mine pulled December 26th... Would rather gotten coal tbh...

2187298 JSYK, cilantro shows an unusual ability to detox heavy metals from your body, including mercury, so if you have mercury fillings, I'd suggest ramping up your intake of both cilantro and water. This can help you prevent brain damage and such from mercury poisoning.

2187249 The Bible itself seems to do a good enough job for that, I think.

i know that feeling bro.
