For the seventh installment of random MLP castings, I've decided to finally get around to casting MLP characters in my all-time favorite television show: Doctor Who. Why did I wait so long to get to this one? I didn't want to be too predictable when I started this little blog casting series (is that a good excuse...yeah, that's a good excuse). Aaaaaanyway, here's the list!

So what are your thoughts on this cast list?

I've been associating Cadance and Shining Armor with Amy and Rory ever since I imagined Shining Armor taking Rory's place in his "I have a message and a question" monologue from A Good Man Goes to War.
That...makes more sense the more I think about it...
Also, maybe Celestia could be Winston Churchill?
And Lyra & Bon Bon as Vastra & Jenny Flint.
But would Minuette/Colgate be Jenny the Generated Anomaly or the TARDIS itself?
I've seen another fic that had Shining as the Brigadier.
I can't help but switching Pinkie and Derpy's roles, considering you can't fully understand Pinkie and she has those "powers" (i.e. Pinkie Sense) she would fit as the role of the being with power. While Derpy is, while a bit biased, the one who The Doctor will marry.
I also find having Braeburn as Jack would be cool considering everyone is gay for Braeburn

This is pretty much the whole basis behind my own Doctor Whooves stories. All of the Doctors' adventures happened, but (with a few exceptions) all of the modern-day earthborn companions have a pony equivalent.
Slight edit in that I misread the assignment, thinking you were asking what others thoughts were for which characters were which. I have a full on list of how I line up MLP characters with companions New and Classic and some of those. Took that stuff out and otherwise the ones I would do different are Pinkie (as Clara, since who else deserves a name like the Impossible Girl and consider the implications for "Too Many Pinkie Pies"), Trixie as Donna (with the assumption that her adventures take place between "Boast Busters" & "Magic Duel") and Scootaloo as Amy (if we ever see her family in canon, it means the Doctor fulfilled Big Bang II).
Then...who would Cheese Sandwich and Coco be?

I could almost see Cheese as Jack. Mostly the fact he's able to befriend just about anypony he meets without much difficulty.

Dunno who Coco could be in modern Who, I always tend to picture a young Coco as the First Doctor companion Dodo Chpalet (similar name, Dodo's a schoolgirl, and Coco's outfit kinda resembles one).

I like Trixie in the role. Abrasive personality, gets better with the Doctor, forgets it all just in time for Magic Duel.
I would prefer if Twilight and Pinkie Pie were switched in their roles. In this cast list you are making Twilight and Spike a couple, unless you intentionally did that, and River Song has more of an intelligent feel to her than comedic and surprising.
I think Scootaloo and Rumble fit Amy and Rory better and really!? Fluttershy as Clara? Not in a lifetime mate. I think Twilight is more fitting for Clara and Shining Armour as Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart and Martha as Nurse Redheart(because Martha is a nurse, duh)

I agree on Scootaloo. She has the personality of an Amy and it is my firm believe that if/when her family properly appears in canon it will be because the Doctor fulfilled Big Bang #2.
For Rory, I've actually gone toward Pipsqueak. Seems an odd choice but it's inspired by several "Wild Mass Guesses" on TV Tropes suggesting Pip might join the royal guard (which has a very centurion-like feel). Plus he's easy to picture being the henpecked one in a relationship.
