Status Update: Previews, Concept Art, and more! Mostly Concept Art.... · 1:28am May 21st, 2014
So, Outlooks is being updated tomorrow, hopefully. Also, The Thief and the Amulet is being updated as well, so I'm set pretty well for my current projects.
However.
My biggest project right now, sitting at a cool 15,000 words (a lot for me), is Distant Shores. A sweeping tale of adventure taking place in the Far East beyond Equestria, and hopefully one of two stories set in this world, unlike every other story of mine I have it fully planned out and'll probably have it half done by the time it gets published, which is very soon.
But that's not why you're here (If you're here at all . . .) , because CONCEPT ART!!!1111
My main character, the titular Distant Shores, very late in the story and into the next one.
Ditto.
Action shot of other main character Prism defending an injured Shores.
Third and final in my lineup of main characters, the airship skipper Smoky Skies late in the story. She'll probably get her own side-story afterwards with this griffon:
Prince Gaerth of Ruvar, and while the picture doesn't show it, he's a huge proponent of the new griffon technology of gunpowder weaponry, hence why Smoky has that hoof-gun. Also, pretty major character.
Aravis, a young, low-ranking Saddle Arabian translator at the lonely little embassy at Morcoast. A huge character in the next story, hopefully, and a fairly major one in Distant Shores. Notice her thin, lithe body structure? Common Saddle Arabians (in my headcanon, and this story) generally have this body type, while also lacking cutie marks, while the royalty (i.e. the delegates shown twice in the show) look like they do. Saddle Arabia, along with the Griffon lands will be further explored in later blog posts and a Worldbuilding Alliance thread.
Another Smoky Skies concept.
And finally:
A Coldshore Guard Under the reign of Lady ------.
Stay tuned, readers! And whoever reads this thing I spent half an hour on . . .
