With the 'Other Perspectives' principle in mind... · 1:01pm May 13th, 2014
So for those of you who've been following me, you probably know that the next few chapters of New Roam Innovatus will be told from Myst's PoV. Now, while I believe I can write her well enough, I would appreciate some suggestions. I'm not a shy person most of the time, I'm not particularly antisocial or suffer from any particular anxiety. So I don't mean to come off as rude, but if any of you have such traits, I'd really like to know how the world seems to you. If you want it can be completely confidential via PM, or if you'd like you can comment below. The general idea is to help me reduce any Goldwreath-like narrative from the story for a short while and bring in Myst.
Thanks in advance, guys.
Speaking from experience: I used to be a very shy guy (much emphasis on VERY), and have only
overcompensatedgotten over it in the past few years. With that and my limited comment space in mind, here are some tips for shy POV:1) Shy people tend to think (and speak) really fast, to the point if tripping over their thoughts/words.
2) They tend to throughly analyze a person based on their social status before making contact (yes, in a really nerd-jock steryotypical way)
*ran out of space due to KindleOS bug here, continued in next comment*
3) Shy people often judge based on appearence, but usually don't vocalize it.
4) Shy people LOVE any kind of newcomers-it opens up an opprotunity for companionship without already-in-place social stigmas.
5) Shy people think of witty or snide comebacks, but don't say them.
6) They tend to get tunnel-vision because they get lost in their thoughts easily.

Thanks guys, your opinions are duly noted and appreciated. I will attempt to incorporate these things into the story.
... which leads me to ask. Would any of you guys mind reading the bit of the first Myst chapter I have? It will be a hidden chapter, passworded, but if anyone's interest I'll give them the password. I just want to make sure the chapter gets written in a believable way for a shy person.

Give me that shit. I'll read it so hard that it will never be able to sit down again.
Ahem.
