I am running from something I'm becoming, but becoming one means I'm running from all I am.

    ^_^

Welp, the Week of Derpy is over—and I’m pretty happy. Nothing got very “popular,” and certainly nothing hit the feature box, but I’m still happy. I did what I set out to do, and that always gives one satisfaction.

Achievement Unlocked: Views · 10:50am Apr 15th, 2014

I decided to look at my user page, and you’ll never guess what I found. Well, I could make you guess, but I won’t. I bet only a couple of people would even bother to look, meaning that nobody would even see the news I was going—am going—to announce. And of the few people that did look, even fewer would actually know what I was referring to. Anyway, back to the point.

(Insert trumpet fanfare.)

I have achieved 21,000 views! Yay me . . . woo hoo. . . .

. . .

Yeah, yeah. I know. Nothing special. But it actually means quite a bit to me. Like, when I first saw the number, I didn’t think anything of it. It was simply a statistic. But then, after a moment, it hit me: 21,000 people read something I wrote. I did something that affected 21,000 people. 21,000 people thought my stuff was interesting enough to read (regardless of their final vote; though I do seem to have plenty more upvotes than downvotes). 21,000 people sat down in front of their computer and said, “Hey! This NightWolf289 guy seems to have written an interesting story. I think I’ll check it out!” It doesn’t matter that some of them—you guys, for the most part—are repeat offenders and gluttons for punishment, continually coming back for the excuses for literature that comes out of my head. Well, actually . . . it does matter. It makes it more special; I did something that not only impressed you, but made you want more. I still think all you guys are crazy for that.

21,000.Think of it in a different, less cold way: one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person + one person . . .

That made me pause, you know? When you really think about it, that’s not a small number. Yeah, I know that it’s nothing compared to the entirety of the population, or even to the more-viewed authors on the site, but still.

Yeah.

I’m done.

Carry on, I guess.

Cute Derpy, because I couldn’t find a picture to accurately describe how I’m feeling right now. I don’t even know exactly what keywords I would put in the search bar. Humbled? Honored? Mildly awestruck?

Quick, question, man. Have you ever sang before?

Congrats man and don't think of it as a small number but think of it as a large one cause it is man i mean thier are thousands on this site that dont have nearly as many story views (me For example) and it is a huge number mind you i mean can you count to 21,000?:trixieshiftright:

Hooray! Congrats on ten thousand views! Also twenty thousand views... and the most recent one too...

Seriously though that is not a small number,,, that is a big number.

Congrats, ya deserve a muffin

Yes.

I was ten.

It was horrible.

I think there were causalities.

I only sing for myself now.

2012045

i mean can you count to 21,000?

It wouldn't be particularly easy or quick, but yes. :unsuresweetie:

2012061
Thanks.

I do like muffins. . . .

2012365 look that wasn't the point you know

2012377
I knew that, but I also wanted to highlight it; that particular phrase struck me as rather . . . odd, I guess. And it was a question, so I figured I should answer it. Also, it appears you missed this near the end of the blog:

When you really think about it, that’s not a small number.

So I know it isn't a small number.

2012412 oh uh woops guess I did miss that and also i am odd
