    Thoughts at 6AM (didn't sleep)

Insomnia is a bitch. I'm doing far better with my new medication, but it's also been causing me to have loads of trouble falling asleep for the last three weeks. Every day it takes longer and longer to get tired, usually ending up with me staying awake until 9AM and then crashing. Sleeping during the day sucks because there's a huge renovation in my apartment house so basically every work day is

Top 10 pony songs from G4 (cliché, I know)

I haven't written anything in a while. I've been stuck inside my own head with a lot of difficulties and mental issues, which are finally easing up. Let's just say that sometimes it's far better to stop hitting your head against a wall and instead take a step back and see if there's a door somewhere, you dig? Anyways, I wanted to write something light before I dive into another fic and try to

    Hey! You! You're above average!

    Yes, I mean it.

For example, the average number of hands a person has is less than two. You probably have at least two hands, so you're above the curve. If you have less than two arms, I'm sorry, but also thanks for making the statistics nicer for the rest of us.

    In other statistics
    - 5/6 players admit to winning in Russian roulette, making it one of the safest bets!

    Thoughts at 2AM

Friendliness, politeness and respect are all priceless, yet free to give.

I'll try to remember that even more in the future.

    Offspring? Really??

I know if you're going to steal, steal from the best, but still... Offspring? Makes me even sadder that "Mob mob mob" was the only song from the movie that I legit liked.

Yeah, you've probably seen a lot of these lately. I was bored so might as well.

50 QUESTIONS ABOUT MY HEADCANONS RELATED TO THE MLP:FIM UNIVERSE!

The Princesses:

1. How old are Celestia and Luna?
Old. Anything more than that doesn't matter to me. You might say it's ancient history. (Booo!) I think the're pretty close in age, maybe even within a few years, but Luna is far more immature because she kinda lost a thousand years of development and growing up during her exile.

2. How old is Cadance?
30

3. Were Celestia and Luna always alicorns, or did they ascend?
Another thing that I don't have a headcanon about, because I really want to see what the show itself will tell us.

4. Are Cadance and Twilight immortal?
Nope, though they are longer-lived than your usual ponies.

5. Have there been other alicorns in the past?
Loads. Every generation has maybe a hundred or so. None of them born that way of course, but having been "promoted" because of their deeds.

6. How much authority do Celestia and Luna have in Equestria?
They let their respective council do most of the work, but hold a right to veto anything they deem unfit. They usually don't need to. Leaves more time for personal life and relationships, because one would go quite mad if they had to be a bureaucrat for a millennia.

7. Does Shining Armor rule The Crystal Empire along side of Cadance?
Yup, though he mostly takes care of the military and internal security side of things. And sports!

8. Other than Twilight, Luna, and Cadance, what relationships have been important to Celestia in her lifetime (students, close friends, lovers, family)?
Well, she really loved hanging out with Starswirl the Bearded while younger, but that's all I have. I'm not a big believer of the Fausticorn thing.

Ponies and Equestrian Culture:

9. Are there still cultural differences between earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns, or is the culture homogeneous by the time shown in canon? Are there cultural stereotypes (positive or negative)?
There are a lot of differences. Earth Ponies are often thought of as backwards and primitive, unicorns as snobbish and haughty, pegasi as aggressive and impatient. Huh, that might actually be worth writing a fic about sometime.

10. Are there foods or items native to Cloudsdale that are uncommon on the ground? Are there foods or items on the ground that are uncommon in Cloudsdale?
Plants don't grown on clouds, silly! They import everything they need. Heck, they even import water. There might be some really wacky magical plants that grown in Cloudsdale!

11. Can all unicorns learn all spells, given the time and effort spent practicing them, or is magical talent usually limited in some way?
With a lot of effort it is possible, but it takes a lifetime of studying and dedication to it, which is not something ponies usually do, because their special talents are elsewhere. It's like asking if someone can learn quantum physics—sure, if they want to, but they won't, because they like playing in a band too much.

12. Earth pony magic: Does it exist? What is it?
The only magic the Earth Ponies have is that of the sweat on their brow and glimmer in their eyes. They don't need magic to be awesome at what they do. Whereas the other races spend time learning to fly and control their magical appendages, the Earth Ponies are already hard at work, studying, learning, and living.

13. Some pony families we’ve seen seem to have naming conventions (the Apples, Twilight’s family) and others don’t appear to (Rarity’s family, Pinkie’s family), which is more common? Are there reasons for one or the other?
I think there are actual family names for all of the families. They might be used as surnames or first names, or omitted altogether, but there they are. For example, I believe Rarity's family name is 'Belle'. Goes well with Sweetie Belle and Magnum Belle, don'tcha think? I also think that many of the names used in the show are more akin to nicknames that ponies pick up during their lives that stick. Let's just say that being the pony doing the annual census and collecting taxes is one of the most unwanted jobs in Equestria.

14. How much formal schooling is an average, middle class pony expected to complete?
9 years of school, starting at the age of seven, ending up at around 16.

15. What’s the average lifespan for a pony? At what age is a pony expected to be independent of their parents?
As per humans.

16. Are there roughly an equal number of male and female ponies?
Females are a slight majority, but it's roughly 60/40.

17. How informed are most ponies about things that happen in other parts of Equestria? What about other parts of the world?
There is no radio or television, so most of the news is delivered in newspapers and word-of-mouth. This means that while most ponies on the outskirts of society are pretty clueless as to what's happening at Canterlot, they are still spared Fox News.

The Main Characters:

18. How old are the Mane Six? Spike? The CMC?
Fluttershy, Twilight, AJ, and Rarity are 22, RD and Pinkie are 21. Spike is eight, the CMC are 10.

19. Did Fluttershy remain on the ground after getting her cutie mark? Were she and Rainbow Dash friends all along, or did they drift apart for a while?
Fluttershy finished her school in Cloudsdale, but when she was sixteen, she moved to apprentice with a nice old granny that lived in her hut before her. Then the granny retired and moved to live in Florida, so Fluttershy inherited the cottage. She insists on just keeping an eye on the place until it's real owner returns.

20. Rarity and Applejack both seem to have grown up in Ponyville. What were their interactions like before the show?
They knew of each other, but AJ was always hard at work on the farm after her parents passed that they didn't have time to mingle.

21. What do Twilight and Spike consider their relationship to be?
Spike thinks of Twilight as her big sis, but when he's really down, he hopes he had a real mother. Twilight has always thought of him as a son, but insists on calling him her assistant so Spike can grow up without confusion from being of a different species. But they ARE family, no doubt about that.

22. When did Pinkie move in with the Cakes? Is she a worker who rents a room, an apprentice, or is there some other relationship?
She moved there at about 12 when it was clear that her place was not on the rock farm, so Ignatius (her dad) asked his sister (Mrs. Cake) to take her in until she finished her school in Ponyville. She stayed at the Cakes', picked up a profession after school and has become pretty much a member of the family since then. She still writes home every week!

23. Who among the Mane Six had the best parents growing up? The worst parents?
How can you compare parents? You can't.

24. Why didn’t the CMC hang out more/know each other before Call of the Cutie?
Why didn't YOU hang out with that silent kid two classes over who had her own circle of friends? Same reason.

25. Is Scootaloo an orphan? Will she ever be able to fly?
She has a dad, Bulk Biceps, and a cool big sister, RD. How could she be an orphan? She will most definitely learn how to fly, because if she doesn't, then Equestria isn't the happy and optimistic place that it claims to be. It won't be easy, but she'll do it!

26. Will Apple Bloom’s cutie mark involve an apple in some way, even if it’s unrelated to farming or baking?
Big, red apple, with a hammer and a chisel crossed over it.

27. How is Sweetie Belle’s relationship with their parents different than Rarity’s was?
Back when Rarity was a kid, her parents worked a lot and were pretty stressed out. Then when Sweetie was about five, they won the All-Equestrian Sweepstakes Lottery and have been living off the prize bits ever since, traveling around the world and dumping Sweetie onto Rarity.

Side and Background Characters:

28. Is Mr. Cake the father of the Cake twins or not?
Yes, but only of one of them!

29. Are Big Mac and Cheerilee an item, romantically?
Big Mac isn't looking for a fillyfriend right now, but he has four mares after him, Cheerilee and Princess Luna included.

30. How did Prince Blueblood get his title?
Money, dear boy.

31. Is Silver Spoon equally as bad as Diamond Tiara?
Nope. DT is the big bad sociopath, SS is only there because she's a misunderstood woobie who doesn't have other friends. The CMC will end up asking SS to play with them, leaving DT alone to face her actions, and both SS and DT grow up to be good ponies in the end, though DT will regret her actions for the rest of her life.

32. Is Zecora’s magic common among zebras?
Nope. She is a witch-doctor, but was driven away from her home village by an even more powerful, evil warlock zebra. Zecora swears to return one day and pay him back. Too bad his name is Purple Orange...

33. Why does Daring Do publish her stories as fiction?
Huh? Daring Do doesn't exist! It's A.K.Yearling who needs the money to keep up her adventuring. They're published as fiction to give her some privacy from gushing fans who'd flock her cottage if it turned out DD was real.

34. Do you have a strong headcanon for any non-speaking or one line background ponies that you want to share?
Flitter and Cloudchaser are sisters who are members of a secret anti-terrorist organization. CC is a ninja´and Flitter is a total Shotacon for Rumble, whom she named her .50 anti-material rifle after.
Featherweight is Bulk "Snowflake" Bicep's kid brother.
Lyra's real name is Mint Condition and she's an antiquarian and Silver Spoon's big sis. She doesn't know any Bon Bon's and is confused about it just as much as her old school friend, Gum Drop.
Changeling #4134 is in love with Changeling #1395 and they want to elope into the night and feed off of each other's love and start a small used books store.

Other Species:

35. Does Equestria differentiate between speaking and non-speaking species, in terms of respect, rights and legal responsibilities? Is there some other line or scale used? (For example, how are cows classified? Diamond Dogs? A chimera?)
If it speaks, it can apply for citizenship and pay taxes if it wants to. That chimera was pretty much caused by one of Twilight's transformation spells ricocheting thanks to Pinkie Pie and is therefore unique. It doesn't mind. If it doesn't speak, it's an animal and treated as such.

36. Do other speaking species form their own nations, or are all nations largely integrated, with some having larger populations of a species than others?
Diamond Dogs are the Dwarves of Equestria, but they lost a lot of their high culture in a cataclysm that to this date is unknown to ponies. Sad story really. Other than them, Griffins have a kingdom to the North-East of Equestria and Zebrica is overseas, far to the East, near where Saddle Arabia is.

37. Are minotaurs related to cows at all?
I WANT YOU TO COME OVER HERE AND ASK ME THAT QUESTION AGAIN! IRON WILL WANTS YOU TO ASK HIM IF HE IS RELATED TO A COW! ASK IRON WILL! *cracks knuckles*

38. Do all zebras rhyme?
Nope, it was a curse laid onto her by the evil warlock that took over her village and drove her away, only allowing her to return if she could find a rhyme to his name.

39. Do zebra cutie marks work the same way as pony cutie marks?
Yes, but in a different language and imagery.

40. Do any species have types of magic, other than ponies and zebras?
Griffins have similar magic to Pegasi, being able to sit on clouds and manipulate them. Their culture doesn't allow them to work for ponies so they don't work in the weather business, which suits the Pegasi just fine because they don't want the competition. Diamond Dogs are masters of molding the earth. Heck, what makes Earth ponies special is that they do NOT have magic, unlike pretty much every other species in Equestria!

41. Is the lack of buffalo presence in Equestria cultural, or simply because most pony towns aren’t built to accommodate a full grown buffalo?
ARE YOU ASKING IRON WILL IF HE IS RELATED TO BUFFALOES!? *cracks knuckles*

Headcanon and You:

42. Do you consider official sources other than the show (comics, card game text, movies, novels, etc.) to be canon?
I consider the show, the comics (apart from the micro series), the movie and the collectible card game cards canon.

43. Do you have one headcanon that you always use, or do you switch depending on projects?
I usually pick one that fits the story best, but I tend to work pretty close to the spirit of canon.

44. Can you easily accept the headcanons of different writers? Do you prefer when stories match your headcanon?
I like to hear other people's ideas, but as stories, not as huge opuses that they try to push onto me.

45. Is there a part of your headcanon that you wish was more popular among writers?
The parts about Zecora and how I've written Cadance and Shining Armor in CIAM. And that Scootaloo CAN and WILL learn to fly.

46. Is there a popular piece of headcanon that other writers use that you dislike?
Anything to do with Fallout Equestria.

47. Have you ever written a story or blogpost just to explain some part of your headcanon (other than this one)?
Eeeyup.

48. Does your headcanon influence things like your favorite pony, ship, or episode?
Eeeyup, though most of my headcanons have been influenced BY those things. It's a neverending cycle that feeds itself like a snake devouring it's own tail.

49. Would it bother you if the show proved part of your headcanon wrong? Any specific piece that would really bother you to lose?
Scootaloo being confirmed cripple and not ever being able to fly. I'd quit the show and the fandom immediately.

50. Is there something that wasn't asked about here, but you feel like you need to explain to everyone?
Nope. Was good to vent some of the things that I'm probably never gonna get around to writing. Thanks BP.

:fluttercry: But I'm writing a Fallout: Equestria fic. Oh well, you're still one of my favourite authors. Also, that comment on Fox News. :rainbowlaugh: So true! Everyone with a single brain cell knows that they're full of shit; moreover, this is coming from a Republican. :raritywink:

She has a dad, Bulk Biceps,

tho i dont 100% agree with him being her father but at lest ur not like all the others who thank her parents are abusive... or she lives in an orphanage at lest ur smart about this. me i thank she has 2 loving parents :pinkiehappy: sorry i get to aggresive when it comes to scootaloo

2007480 Killing, raping, gore, torture, drugs... which part of these reminds you of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic? That's why I don't like FoE. FIM makes me happy because it's about friends facing problems together and solving them with talking and thinking, not high-powered rifles. You people can have your crossovers. Me? I'll stick to the canon that brought me to this fandom.

I've seen so many of these lately! I find it great that you've done one though, I like the extra insight into your headcannon that I didn't get from your fics. :pinkiehappy:

2007888 HeadcaNon. I don't have a bloody Howitzer on my forehead! :facehoof:

2007945

I reject your reality and substitute my own. :twistnerd:

Glad you posted this. Peaking into your brain is always fun. I may or may not have left candy wrappers while poking around in there.

I don't have a bloody Howitzer on my forehead! :facehoof:

Well, you should. :derpytongue2:

Nope. She is a witch-doctor, but was driven away from her home village by an even more powerful, evil warlock zebra. Zecora swears to return one day and pay him back. Too bad his name is Purple Orange...

Nope, it was a curse laid onto her by the evil warlock that took over her village and drove her away, only allowing her to return if she could find a rhyme to his name.

Ok, you have to write a story about this. The CMC ask Zecora why she lives in Equestria and she responds with an epic ballad about her struggle with the evil warlock.

2009255 That was one big part of Inferno, but I didn't like the beginning so it kinda... didn't happen.
