Giving up on Scribble. · 7:32pm Mar 23rd, 2014

I've thought about doing it more than once. Overall it still has a 1/11 chance if being hated. Nothing I've done seems to have changed that. None of my revisions and edits gave done anything to imporove the ratio. I'm considering going out and finding someone to take Cute Scribble the story she deserves, the quality writing I can't give her.

I wonder if I could pay someone to make the story good. I've failed, so it might be worth a try. I'm just...

My new story is a failure right out of the gate, with a staggering 4/9 chance of being hated. I can see why people hate it... It just sucks.

So overall, I'm feeling low.

What author do you guys think would be better at writing Don't Call Me Cute? The guy who did Past Sins maybe?

I just don't know anymore.

Hey man, just becuase one story wasn't recieved well doesn't mean you should give up all together. Just Be sure to write for yourself first and other people can do what they want regardless.

I it makes me VERY sad to hear this! :applecry: I actually think you writing is good... It makes me extremely sad to hear you say all this, and I don't get were it comes from, the numbers look alright on the story :unsuresweetie:.. Not as high as those for don't call me cute, but still not bad! :applejackunsure: I hope you change your mind about this :raritydespair: or at least find someone to take over since you feel that you failed....:fluttercry:
Main six agree

Don't give up on something you like. Tell you what, take a breather from Scribble. Write something else, just to improve, and keep Scribble out of the writing queue. Once you have mastered the literary arts, get back to Scribble and give her that story yourself.

Giving up on something just because you do not currently have the skill to carry it out is the wrong way to approach things. Step back, carry out a tactical retreat, level up, then come back and smash the problem to pieces with your newfound skills.

a new cover pic wouldn't hurt........

NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER SURRENDER!

1949481 I write to share my imagination with others.
1949497 I-I guess
1949543 I wrote over 10k non Scribbleverse stuff and it all failed
1949580 paid a decent artist 10 dollars for a commission they haven't updated me on their progress in a while.
1949616 blegh.

In all honesty, this story isn't good enough to be taken up by any good writers. I'm stuck writing it myself.

1949755 The staircase leading to glory is built with the steps of failure. :moustache:

1949784 save your platitudes for a mamal who cares.

1949860 Have it your way, then. :moustache:

1949901 victory shall not be carried by empty words and useless platitudes. It will be carried on the back of men, woman, and their blood, sweat, and tears!

1/11 is not a bad like dislike ratio in my opinion. one of mine has a 3:1 and I'm fine with that.

Sorry I haven't gotten to look at it yet:applecry: So don't give up yet!

1950824 ... you still haven't... but you said... buck you too you lying jerk!

1950829 What did I do? I haven't gotten to the sequel!:unsuresweetie:

1950883 I'm reading it right now...

1/11? That's a excellent ratio! Think of all the people who like your story, and forget the rest. Just a down-vote doesn't mean hate. Are you writing just to make other people happy? If so, your doing a better job than Rhode Island is giving people jobs. If not, then who cares what they think?

1951191 I guess... It just hurts looking at stories way better than mine and knowing my best will never compare to that.

1951245 Sounds like you got a bit of a self esteem problem. If I was Iron Will, I would yell catch phrases at you and make you feel better. I'm not, so I will just say; Look at them not as competition, but things to aspire too. Anything you do over and over you will get better at. I haven't read "Don't Call Me Cute" yet, but its in my "Read Later" list. Having looked at your "Undead On Arrival, But Loved Ever After", I definitely will be taking a look at it tomorrow.

Side note, amount Like and Dislikes aren't the best judge of how good a story is. My friend Legionary writes Oskar Osaker: True Omnivore, and its one of the best stories I have read (though I'm probably biased, I'm helping him with ideas and stuff. Though people in comments seem to agree), yet has never been featured, and it only has 300 likes, and has only slowly been climbing with time.

My advise, keep soldiering on, writing for those who like your story and for yourself. And if you ever need a Ego boost, I'm happy to help.

I know that feel about your story not getting the attention you think it deserves. My current story isn't getting anywhere near the views, comments, upvotes, etc. I was hoping for, but you must soldier on. If you don't tell the story in your head, then no one will, because no one else will see it just the way you do, nor give it the kind of attention you think it needs.

1951345 you sir.... fuck... have a hug *hug* I won't say no homo because that'd be lying.

Ok, as long as you don't give up!:raritystarry:

Now that I am all caught up reading, I restate my earlier statment. It's a good story, and you are doing a fine job at writing it. 1 in 11 people might not like it, but 10 in 11 do.
